Seriously, last night at the Saw V midnight showing idiots were texting through the whole thing. Who needs to text at 1 in the morning on a Thursday night??? At first sight of the idiots texting in the front 5 rows I screamed at them to put the phone away from like the 15th row. There were no less than 5 different idiots in the first 5 rows texting CONSTANTLY. I felt like running up to the screen and pacing back and forth with my phone open to show them how annoying it is. WHY CANT THEY PUT THE PHONE BETWEEN THEIR LEGS RIGHT BY THEIR CROTCH TO TEXT?? No one would be able to see it then except themselves!!!!

Yeah, this pisses me off. That annoying bright light. I'm going to start getting management from now on. The Regal Cinemas have this on their signs now, on all theater doors. "No talking, cell phones or texting during the movie"

Whenever this happens to me at the movies, if the person is in the row right in front of me me and I can talk to them quietly about it without getting out of my chair and disturbing everybody else, I do it.

But seriously, nothing. Like some kind making 8 bucks an hour is going to disrupt the movie to make someone leave. I use to work at a movie theater, I was very apathetic about that shit. One white trash lady brought in like five small kids to see Fast and the Furious 2. Those kids were running around like crazy. I did nothing but we gave vouchers to those who complained.

The best story is one of my coworkers found a used condom in one of the afternoon matinee movies.

People yelling in a theater irritate me more than some screens several rows in front of me. I can ignore the cell phones, it's much harder to ignore someone yelling, drawing attention to both themselves and the cell phones.

It's kind of like company wide emails where people reply to all asking to be removed from the distro list.

Cell phones should all come with a 'cinema' feature that automatically turns off the ringer and changes the LCD screen to red, which is much easier on the eyes in a darkened theater. That way obsessive texters can still text away and it won't be so bothersome to people.

^ That's a creative idea. How about the concept of an underground theater where it's impossible to get a signal. Or perhaps theaters can make the back rows 'texting only'. Hard to come up with a good solution. Maybe the OP can sit in the very front row if he wants to be free from the distracting cell phone lights.

Yeah, I still go to theaters now and then, but my patience for dvd releases keeps getting better, esp. since the theater closest to me has tickets for $13 - and i used to think $7 was high.

OP - what did you pay for tickets? The theaters that don't offer student discounts probably would be the better ones.

Rule of Warning: Never see a movie that targets teens on opening weekend.

If someone is texting, silencer still on so you dont hear there incoming text, and not talking loud to the person next to them, i have no problem with it. The lights from the phone arent that bothersome. Now the asshole yelling about cell phone use is actually ruining the movie so...yea...now what are we going to do about the idiot yelling

They need to be kicked in the back of the head. I used to go to the movies all the time up until a few years ago. With all the texting and people talking like they were on the couch at home, it's not worth the hassle of going anymore. I can wait for the DVD to be released.
