It's also available using the Ethernet connection (unlike 1.3, which was never made available that way).

Maybe they should focus on actually getting these into stores first...Best Buy/CC still does not carry these. I gave up months ago on Panasonic which is shame since the BD50is a great machine.

Why don't you buy online? Cheaper + no tax.

Amazon has it, so does 6th Ave. 6th Ave will frequently negotiate the posted $

I won't buy players online...would much rather have the option of returning it to the store if the player sucks, does not work, or price match. In Panasonics case, I waited and waited...and eventually caved and bought a Sony S350 (which I then returned and picked up 2 LG 200's)

Why don't you wait on the BD35 and BD55? Panasonic has been, by far, the best/most consistent standalone brand of BD players.

Waiting and waiting and waiting . . . . .

Also would like to see the Sony 550 but clearly there is no sense of urgency

This is so true. My 1.0 Profile Panasonic 10AK has played everything I've thrown at it... with the only problem being slow load times. ZERO disc issues and I've watched hundreds of different titles and no new firmware updates for me in six+ months. No DTS-HD MA decoding or bitstreaming and no PIP, or I'd probably be keeping this one for the long haul. Sigh, f-in profiles and hidef audio.

I got tired of waiting and waiting and waiting...and Panasonic announcing a new "updated" player when they can't even get their new one out is BS. I love my LG 200 too much - not a single hiccup and it plays every BD, HD DVD, any region Blu-ray, any region DVD and PAL DVDs. Besides Profile 2.0 (which I don't care that much about) its a wonderful player. Sony could have had me had they released the S550 at the same time as the S350...but they didn't want my money that bad.
