Is it still worth getting rear projection HDTVs...

Is it still worth getting rear projection HDTVs...

since the technology is getting phased out? I've also heard of issues with brightness, etc but for the most part those have been corrected on the newest models.

On the other hand, if the technology is going kerplunk than after a few years are replacement bulbs going to be impossible to find? How many times does one wind up changing the bulb on a dlp tv?

I am still on my original bulb for my dlp projector, 5 years later.

IMHO, with the pictures on the latest plasma and lcd tv's I would not buy a rptv if that was the choice.
