Nightmare Before Christmas BR - Digital copy not working
OK...
I picked this up yesterday and was playing with the notion of using the digital copy on my phone. I put the disc in my computer, and after two screens (one where you choose iTunes or WMP) get to the third step where I have to use the activation code and it states that it's invalid. Has anyone else run into this or would try their code to see if it works?
UPDATE: The iTunes path works, but the Windows Media Player does not.

Yeesh - I got mine but I haven't even checked it yet. Maybe take it back to where you got it from and just say the BD disc isn't working? Maybe they'll just swap it out for another. I haven't had any issues in the past - yet.
That has me thinking - how do the Best Buy's/Circuit City's/ Fry's handle the return of movies where there's a digital copy involved?

Hey hey rfduncan! I was just playing around with it to see if it worked. I was going to keep a copy on my PC and just try it out on my phone.
BTW, I did call Disney - and they told me I'd have to send the whole package to them because they don't send out the codes. It's not worth it.

Bri - I'm in Hutto! Gotta support the locals. If I were you and it's not out of the way, take it back to Fry's or whereever you got it from. May be the best way. rfduncan's dumba sss comments aside, I did try out the digital copy for my iPod and it's pretty interesting - great picture too.

This was to what I was referring. I has been seriously criticized in this forum that Disney charges extra for this "feature" that no one really wants but has no option to avoid purchasing.
I was just joking (hence the wink) RockyMtnBri. Just you tinkering with it means that SOMEONE is trying to use it - which if you paid for it why the heck not? When my copy arrives, it will be the only film I own with a digital copy and will definitely fiddle with it as a curiousity since they made me PAY FOR IT!

Gotcha rfduncan. And you illustrate my point exactly - if I have it regardless of whether or not I wanted it, why shouldn't I use it? Now, if I had an option to buy the disc without it, I would've done so - it's not a "must have" feature or bonus for me. But it might be for folks that travel or don't want to take their copy out on the road.
WiidSmoker - I believe the encoded film version is on the disc, not at iTunes. The choice between players determines the file format that you eventually have copied to your PC or Mac.

Assuming they validate it, they must be keeping track of how many validations they're doing.

Drexl...
Now that I did indeed unlock the file on my disc using the code via iTunes, I saw that they "billed" me for it - at least for a free license. So that's the means of tracking and validation. It looks as though you can authorize up to five different PCs as well for playback of the file.
