Pioneer Laserdisc player problem

Its a CLD-D406 player and I haven't played it in about a yr and a half and I just noticed it has no power.I switched the cord with another player and thats ok.Maybe a power surge fried a line inside and maybe it needs a simple soder job.Anyone ever have the same problem? At least I have another player.

Was it unplugged for that year of dis-use? If so, a power surge obviously won't have hurt it. I've left my CLD-M401 unused for a few years, and had it fire up no problems. I had a RPJ TV die after dis-use, but there was an initial "zap" of it dying when first firing it up.

It was plugged in.If I decide not to get it fixed-I will save it for parts for the other player.

If it won't turn on it's probably just a fuse that needs replacing.
