Will wait for Hellboy II on Blu-Ray
Decided today not to see Hellboy II in the theater but instead wait for the Blu-Ray. The cost of 2 movies tickets totals $19 so this is a no brainer. Will likely do the same thing for the Mummy III.
I don't know about you but I'm trying to build of my collection of never before seen movies so I can truly experience them in all their Hi-Def glory for the very first time.
I can't wait on Batman The Dark Night however.

To each their own.
... but I'll be seeing it opening night on DLP and then again when the BD hits the stores.

I'll see TDK and HBII in the theaters and on BD.

I don't care how great your home theater set up is, it's not gonna beat projected film onto a >100 foot screen, and that's to say nothing of the theater's sound systems. Of course, every theater is different, but I'm hitting a matinee tomorrow at a new local, state of the art theater and two tickets won't cost more than $15. I guess I just care more about cinema than my "collection". Further, I think this movie (and DelToro) needs my support much more than Dark Knight does.

That said, I think skipping the theater entirely is stupid. I love getting out and going somewhere else and paying $9.50 to sit down, erm wait, I mean, I like going to the movies. I LOVE audience reactions (note: I hate talking and cellphones though), they're the best part of horror films and some comedies.

"Hellboy II" needs theater business if you want the third one made. Especially since it's spotlight will seriously be taken away next week by "The Dark Knight". Del Toro said he'd definitey do a third depending on how well "II" does. However, we got a second one after the first only grossed 59M in the U.S. (99M worldwide). So I was shocked when I first heard they were doing a sequel at all. But happy!

The trip back to Universal makes a lot of sense really, they seem to pride themselves on creature features.

I'll be seeing it tomorrow morning. I do wait on most films, but I still go out to see 20-30 movies a year.
Also, except for DLP rooms, I find the sound to be mostly disappointing in theaters these days. Louder doesn't always equal better. Fidelity-wise, I think lossless on HDM beats a non-DLP room every time.

Many older theaters desperately need an overhaul. It is pretty sad that say, 50% of the theaters out there have inferior sound to HTiBs.

Im going to see it tonight in a shithole local theatre that has ONE screen. lol I do this because its $5 a ticket and drinks and popcorn is a $1.
Screw theatres and their overpriced crap. It doesnt look or sound half as good as my 55" Sony SXRD and Onkyo setup. Studios need to just start forgoiing theatre and put new releases out on releases day on PPV. Price em at $40-50 its still cheaper than a damn theatre. Get some friends to help split the cost.

I like to see my films....on film, in a theater with a humungous screen.
You know, with an audience, to make me feel like its a communal experience - like its been for over a century.

lol at the above comment.
I seen it earlier today and I enjoyed it alot, both reviews up for this film on the boards are pure speculation... judge it for yourself.
I loved it and will now purchase it on BD.
ALSO GOT SOME COOL SWAG BECAUSE THE MOVIE WENT OUT ON US!

but what if the OP watched it in theaters and did not cared for it much... a loss of a blu-ray sale right there, which could further the diminish of BD into nichenessism.
