Is My Cablevision Box Screwy?

I have the Scientific Atlanta 8300 DVR. I just purchased the 4x1 HDMI switcher from Monoprice, and I have a problem. I have hooked up so far just my 360 and the DVR. Whenever I switch off the Cablebox and use the 360 it screws up my DVR. It changes the setting to output in 480i, which my tv cannot display.

I then have to turn off my DVR, and reset it so that it only displays the proper settings. This also happens randomly with the cable box, and I don't know if it's a problem with just another shitty cable product, or if it has something to do with the HDMI acting screwy. Maybe my box has some glitch, and a replacement would work. Has anyone else run into this problem?
