When is an exclusive not an exclusive...

National Geographic: Six Degrees Could Change the World (Amazon.com Exclusive) [Blu-ray]

So, Amazon.com says this is exclusive to their site, but now you can pre-order it from at least two other sites. I e-mailed Amazon.com about this and here is their response...

Thanks for writing to Amazon.com to bring this to our attention.

I apologize that the information for this item in our store was incorrect or misleading.

We build our web site information from many sources, and we really appreciate knowing about any errors which find their way into it.

For future reference, at the bottom of the product detail page of every item on our web site, you should see a blue Feedback or Suggestion Box where you can report any inaccuracies in that item's listing on our site.

In case, you would like to return the item please let us know using the link below we will make an exception and provide you with a return mailing label.

I hope this information is helpful.

Again, we are very sorry for any inconvenience caused in this regard and thank you for shopping at Amazon.com.

This seems like shady advertising to me. I'm assuming that the exclusivity is for a limited time, obviously. Has anyone ever seen an example of this before? I see that they have "Kiss of the Spider Woman" Blu-ray as an Amazon.com exclusive. I wonder how long that will last.

Just a warning - I got this title and it pretty much sucked balls to put it eloquently.

Content was boring and PQ was wildly erratic based on different sources and cheesy animations.

I got it, too. I thought it was interesting to see what would happen with each individual degree rise in temperature. The animations weren't as good as a Hollywood blockbuster, but they helped tell the story. We'll have to agree to disagree.
