Red Baron (Der Rote Baron) German release April 10th

I'm hoping this plays in the US at some point. What is of some interest is that this is the first German post-1945 movie that I can think of that portrays a German military figure as a war hero in the traditional sense.

Trailer in Engligh (and German) is here:

Of course, it's dealing with WWI and not the Nazis. That helps. I'd like to see a German film about Rommel. That would be interesting.

Looks pretty good. A bit like Flyboys though. I'll still check it out if only for the fact that the man makes one heck of a good frozen pizza.

The only good movie Richthofen was ever in was the cameo in Blue Max. When I saw the aircraft on the site was his Albatros and not the DR1 my hopes for this film went way up. I just wonder how much they are going to play up the relationship he had with his nurse. Still looking forward to this.

Not a bad thing. Flyboys was decent and frankly I'm very interested in WWI flicks especially ones dealing with early fighter pilots. The Red Baron has always fascinated me.

Flyboys suffered greatly under the weight of all of the bad acting in it.

Sooooo yeah....I saw this on Trailer Addict. Let's just say I know MUCH about this man cuz of Snoopy and his wonderful imaginative battle against the Red Baron. Obvously this thread died a month before I joined here but..I saw this trailer newly posted on Trailer Addict...and well inaccuracies aside and whatnot (from what wikipedia says..also turns out it did horrible in Germany) I want to see this if only to imagine what this amazing fighter pilot's skills were by seeing it in this format. Has ANYONE seen this yet? was it good? And when are we EVER going to get it here?

Actually I'm in the midst of watching a DVD screener of The Red Baron. Saw the trailer posted online on apple.com/trailers over the weekend.

Think a quick theatrical is planned for February with a DVD release in March.

This is finally on Redbox... has anyone seen it? Looks decent, assuming you liked Flyboys.
