Spring Cleanup: delete a film-related site from your web browser favorites list

Granted the official start of Spring is still two weeks away and I readily admit that this thread is rather frivolous...but I’ll go ahead anyway:

Perhaps I’m alone in this but given this is a site for movie buffs maybe not…a look at the list of favorite places saved in my web browser will show numerous sites related to film in some way or another. Over the years, it seems I’ve acquired quite a bit of clutter in my favorites list. Taking a closer look shows sites that, for a variety of reasons, I haven’t gone to in months if not years and likely some that don’t even exist anymore. So I think it’s time to tidy up my favorites section.

If anyone else has a favorites section that exhibits the same pack rat mentality, please share at least one film-related site that you are ready to delete from your list of favorites.

As for me, I say thanks for the memories, but I’ll wave bye to:

avsforum.com – I used to check their movie/dvd forum on a regular basis, but that was years ago…and I don’t spend much time reading up on a/v type discussions

thedigitalbits.com – used to be a daily check for me but again that ceased years ago, and I get the feeling most of the news there will eventually work its way to this forum or some others I might follow

dvdreview.com – used to be another regular check for me but that too stopped years ago

hometheaterforum.com – I used to check their movie/dvd discussions on a fairly regular basis but stopped doing so a long while back, and again I’m not overly interested in the technical a/v stuff to keep it in my favorites

yeondvd.com – seller of Korean DVDs that is closing shop…never purchased from them but had it saved for reference purposes

dvdjournal.com – I recall that they were ceasing operations but I hadn’t got around to deleting them…until now

thedigitalbits.com. I dont care about what their "sources" tell them about what is going on in the hi-def world.

Shocktillyoudrop.com. All their horror news is usually broken earlier at Bloody-Disgusting.com, and what exclusives they do get are usually lame. Plus, Ryan Rotten is a huge douchebag and I don't want to give traffic to his site.

Same for thedigitalbits.com, just replace Rotten with Hunt.

I don't usually bookmark since I keep all the important sites in my head (you know, so THEY can't find me!)

But the two I go to on a regular basis are DVDTalk.com and DVDFile.com...I haven't been to DVDFile.com in at least 6 months.

I used to go to DVDFile all the time when Peter was there, but I stopped when he left and the place fell into some disarray. Maybe it's back, but I haven't re-upped.

I use to frequest twitch but sometimes they have stuff too soon. like when someone thinks about making a movie and has an idea it will be on the site. or some random straight to video japanese movie with no subs coming to dvd in 2010. and the new format is as bad as the first.

hometheaterforum.com - The HT forum was a one day in, one day out kind of website for me. I signed up, but the forums are so bloody slow, I don't even bother visiting. Plus, I've heard a lot of stories from members (and reviewers) here, that it isn't exactly the friendliest place.

That'll be the one that officially gets the "delete" button.

DVDTalk.com is probably my #1 resource for DVDs, movies, TV, and "Otters".

tvshowsondvd.com, dvdverdict.com and sitcomsonline.com are the only other sites that I visit on a regular basis. It isn't even close to DVD Talk, forum wise, but "The Jury Room" on dvdverdict.com has pretty friendly members. I just joined sitcomsonline.com yesterday, but they seem like a good bunch as well.

www.daily-reviews.com for me. It used to be, well, nigh-daily reviews of DVDs run by some guy. I think I won a dvd from them one time. Now it's, I don't actually know. *deleted*.
I guess I don't need an ancient list of CH codes either.
HDTVoice.com as well, yet another home theater forum, guess what it specializes in.
I still hit DigitalBits once or twice a month, but only to enter their contests.

Ok, it's not movie related but I've gone more than 2 months without logging into myspace.
