Xbox Live Player Reviews
When I have a good time playing on Xbox Live, I like to leave good player reviews so that we might be matched up again. But recently, I've had a few bad experiences with some players.
One time, a guy was spawn camping which was pretty annoying. Another time, there was this 10-year-old kid that kept goofing off. I'd like to "avoid" those players in the future. But I'm not sure I want to leave a bad review and hurt their "rep".
Do you ever leave bad player reviews? If so, what's your criteria?

That is how the system is supposed to work.
When you play with someone cool, you can mark them as a preferred player. If they are annoying or do something else in game, you can leave them avoid feedback and cite things like "left early" "unsportsmanlike conduct" there are ones for voice chatter, etc.
The file complaint is a more serious thing and to be done if people are believed to be cheating or using really nasty racial or hate speech.

I have left some bad rep for people before. I don't remember what exactly they were doing but it had to be pretty bad for me to remember that we could leave feedback for people in the first place since I use it like once in a blue moon. On the downside though. I have been in plenty of rooms where it will be myself joining into a room of people playing as a group and one will say "hey leave this fuck negative feedback so he will leave us alone" without me doing anything to provoke them and they will all do. I swear this has happened four times already in Halo 3.

I have the PS3, but I can still give people negative reviews.
Some people just like to be jerks online because they're probably picked on a lot when they're actually around other people. NHL 08 has people calling other people "faggts" (faggots for people with any trace of decent spelling skills). I've generally had good experiences online since I got the PS3, and the only thing I've been having trouble with is getting beat by these people who play all day long.

I leave feedback now and then but it has to be a pretty extreme case for me to leave negative feedback.
The feedback system really needs some work but it's a start. I hate that I got nailed for bailing one one game early and now when you look at my info I have a 100% negative in one category because of one person reporting me. I understand the math and the idea but it pisses me off so bad that one player review leaves such a blemish.

I leave feedback for anyone I don't or do want to play with again. It's that simple.
I only file a complaint if it is a serious offense...like the guy who was jerking off on their camera while I was trying to play Uno.

I've avoided a handful of people since getting my 360 back in January. They've all been people who have excessively trash-talked and/or used some really nasty language. (Don't get me wrong, I'm no prude, and have just as big a potty-mouth as anyone, but I just don't wanna hear that stuff when I'm playing Uno, for example.)
(And yes, most of the people I've avoided so far have been in Uno, as opposed to, say, COD4 , which I find strange. Maybe because it's much quicker and easier to mute people in COD4 or something.)
I don't give a crap about hurting their rep, though--they're the ones being fuckheads to begin with. The only thing that makes me think twice about avoiding someone is the fear that they'll somehow figure out that it was me, and leave me a negative review as "payback" of some kind. Which would be totally bogus, as I never use my headset at all unless I'm playing with people I know.

I wish that it would slowly go away with time if you don't get negative feedback for a while. Say you get knocked for quiting early or something when in reality you just lagged out. Some asshat marks you and you get a neg. on your rep. After three - six months or something if you don't get pegged for leaving a game early in that time frame it goes away all at once, or starts to slowly deplete or something. That would be cool. That way, people who get boned for nothing at least have a chance to get back to 100. The people who play daily like dicks will not be able to get back to 100 unless they are really good because it is hard for someone to be good for that long unless they are actually a decent person and not just a cock.

yeah i only leave negative feedback if it is something small like singing the whole time or yelling the whole time. i file a complaint if it is worse than small. i hate people that make the experience so crappy.

I've only left negative feedback a few times. I can't stand people who talk smack and swear up a storm with racial slurs while playing. I just never understood the need for it. Then again that's mostly why I don't play Halo 3 anymore...

Every quitter I come across during score or tug of war on Rock Band gets negative feedback from me. If I stick around eventho I'm getting my ass beat on some song, you should be able to suck it up and take the whipping I lay down, too.

I only play in a group with my friends. Sometimes if we are so far behind we just start screwing around with each other. Why should you have a say in the matter if your on the opposing team?

I used to stress when i would get undeserved dings to my rep. Like a trashtalking ding (i never trashtalk to non-friends) but whatever. I know when i played SFII and MK3 i got several things like unsporting conduct just because someone got demolished in a fight. If i had to be subjected to the ridiculous E. Honda creeping towards me with the thousand hand slap (due to the person only knowing one move) then they should be able to take their completely legitimate beating using varying techniques without whining.

I have "avoided" a few players on CoD4, mainly because of trash talk. I have since just turned down the volume and/or don't wear my headset.
I have filed complaints against players with offensive gamertags. There was some clown with a gamertag of "ass2mouth2000" or something similar.

I have a co-worker that just hooked up Live for the first time the other day specifically to play COD4 online. He said he was sorry he used his headset. He got nothing but asshole kids cursing and screaming.
Not an experience you want on your first day of Live...(or ever, really)

I can't imagine what a new gamer would think the first time they luck into one of these winners on their team. It would turn someone off to the whole idea and i really wish MS would enforce their policies a little more visibly so as to let people know the clowns are getting handled.
