ps3 make clicking noise??

When my room gets quiet, I seem to hear some kind of clicking noise from the ps3? Anyone else experiencing this problem and know a way to solve it?

Hard drives make a clicking noise once they start going bad with corrupted sectors. I don't know if that is what is happening here though. I am a measly level 4 in Halo 3, so I know nothing. It could just be the fan for all I know.

Are you accessing the hard drive when you hear the clicking or does it happen when the PS3 is idle? If the hard drive is going bad, it should only click when you are trying to access something on the bad sectors.

If there is even a chance of HDD problems I suggest you back up all your saves to a memory card or portable HDD. You can redownload stuff from the PS3 store, but it would suck to lose your saves. I keep all my Wii and PS3 saves backed up on memory cards. (with the exception of the few games that block this for no good reason)

It is mostly when the ps3 stop running. After I watch a blu ray then when i turn it off, about a minute later i hear it. At times when the room is quiet, I also hear it. It just happen at random times.
