comes out today. it's pretty much getting dumped, and that's a shame. it's a nice throwback to some of the 80s teen comedies. sure it's completely unrealistic and a bit uneven at times, but it's a fun movie with solid performances.

They've been advertising the hell out of this on Comedy Central.

If Robert Downey Jr. is in it I have a good chance of seeing this one.

Anyone else notice how Anton Yelchin talks like Randal from Clerks?

The studio is now promting this film "If you liked Juno, then you'll fall in love with Charlie Bartlett".

Off topic, I stayed at Planet Hollywood Hotel in Vegas last week, and our room had Downey's bloody pants from Natural Born Killers on the wall.

I might check this out soon.

Looking forward to checking this out, Ive reached a point now where I try to avoid what critics say about a movie.

I didn't believe the critics on this, so I went anyway...should have listened. Did not like it at all... found Anton Yelchin's mugging for the camera to be beyond annoying, the direction bugged the heck out of me and for a movie that tried hard to be 'honest and real' it rang false the whole time... I'm glad to hear some people like it but man, with the exception of RDJ, I didn't like much about this at all.

Saw it yesterday morning. My dad and I were the only ones in the theater! It was okay but i never got the whole comparison to Juno. It actually felt like a cheap copy of Rushmore. There were some good stuff in it but it just didn't feel like that good of a movie I thought it was going to be.

I really liked this movie. I liked AY in Fierce People also. Looking forward to T4. And I thought RDJ was just eatable in this movie, he looked so cute

Re: Charlie Bartlett

Just got this from Netflix and really enjoyed it. Almost didn't see it because of the shitty trailer. And screw the "Juno" comparisons. Anyway, I'd give it 8/10.

That's what you're supposed to do when talking about a film (or music, books, etc). Search for thread about it, and continue discussing it there. Someone bumped up "The Bank Job" recently too.

I really liked this film. I saw it primarily because I wanted to see the future Chekov in action and I was pleased.

Re: Charlie Bartlett

Another reason I initially didn't want to see this film, I hate the kid who plays Charlie. I just find him annoying and hate the way he talks. It's like that in everything he's done.
