Favorite "based on actual events" movies?

There are just so many good real-life based movies that have those events they are inspired by, but also comes across like a traditional movie. You see it and then sometimes they wait to the end to flash the "based on actual events" phrase and it just hits home even more. That gimmick is so effective.

I just watched "The Hunting Party", "The Hoax", and "Rescue Dawn" this past week. They were pretty good movies. I liked the performances a lot. Thought "The Hoax" would be a little better, but liked THP a bit more. Hoax reminded me of another I just love and have seen quite a few times in "Shattered Glass". Something about those performances and the story that urges me to see it again every once in awhile.

I can't wait for "Into The Wild" to come out so I can check that one out, heard so many good things about it.

Wanted this to jog my memory on some of the great movies in this genre that I cannot recall at the moment.

So I wanted to know what are some of your favorite movies that are inspired by and/or "based on actual events", but still keep the cinematic qualities of a great all fiction movie.

That movies should have had the tagline: "Based on the movie Jaws."

United 93 is my most recent favorite. I'm sure there are tons more, but that comes to mind first.

My choice would be Colossus: The Forbin Project, but it hasn't happened yet.

I knew that Patch Adams would catch some flack

I wouldn't call it an excellent film, but a very enjoyable one based on true events.

I failed to include A Beautiful Mind . This would be one of my favorite films based on true events.

Spoiler:

No. I think there's a documentary on the DVD about how the Coen's did that as a joke...
