PC Gaming Alliance Formed
I know that most visitors here are console oriented, and i've gone that way lately as well, but hopefully this actually does something for PC gaming and keeps some great titles on that platform. I'm still a PC guy at heart despite the 360/Wii/PS3/DS in my household, and nothing will pry me from a keyboard/mouse when it comes to certain games so I really hope that this venture gives it a boost and keeps developers working on PC games in a multi-platform/bad port generation.

Headed by Intel's Randy Stude as president and founding board member, the PC Gaming Alliance is an Amercan non-profit organisation whose mission is "to drive worldwide growth of PC gaming". Membership incldues key computer hardware and software companies from around the world.
Activision, Epic and Microsoft are founding members representing PC game developers, joining hardware companies AMD, Nvidia and Intel. PC OEM firms Dell, Acer, Alienware and Gateway round out the number of founding members.

I want to see the PC remain a successful platform as well, but I'm a little skeptical of how successful this alliance will be. The press release was very vague, all I could gather was that the alliance would be a pc gaming cheerleader. I think the Steamworks announcement was bigger in terms of the unification the PC gaming market needs, not that it is neccessarily at odds with this announcement.

Good idea, but Microsoft isn't helping the situation by releasing games on the ps4/xbox and not releasing them for 2 years on the PC like Halo 2 and Halo 3.
Heck by the time they get to the PC everybody has moved on and their multiplayer serves are empty.

I've been a PC gamer since I was a kid (my first video card was a TNT2) and I still game on it when I can. But there haven't been any MUST HAVES for a long long time, Orange Box being the exception.
