My War Collection (What am I missing?)
This is my first post so let me introduce myself.
My name is aust10n. I like movies.
A few months ago I enlisted into the United States Marine Corps, and ever since I have been motivated to make my war collection bigger and better. Tell me what other films I should add. Here is my list.
All Quiet on the Western Front
Band of Brothers
Battle Cry
Battle Ground
Blue Max, The
Boy in Company C
Combat Diary: The Marines of Lima Company
Dirty Dozen, The
Ears Open. Eyeballs Click.
Flying Leathernecks
Flags of Our Fathers
Full Metal Jacket
Guadalcanal Diary
Gung Ho
Halls of Montezuma
Hamburger Hill
Harts War
Heart Break Ridge
Hell's Angels
Hell is for Heros
Hell to Eternity
Letters from Iwo Jima
Longest Day
Lost Battalion, The
Men of Honor
Objective Burma
Paths of Glory
Patton
Patriot, The
Platoon
Pork Chop Hill
Saints and Soldiers
Sands of Iwo Jima
Saving Private Ryan
Sergeant York
The Thin Red Line
To Hell and Back
Uncommon Valor
Wake Island
We Were Soldiers
Windtalkers
Are there any must haves that I don't have in my collection?
Also are there any movies based around the Marines that I don't have?
I really want to get The D.I. and Tribes but they aren't on DVD.
Thanks,
aust10n

What do you mean you don't have all these in your collection? What is your major malfunction, numbnuts? While you're at it, get these too! At ease! Here's hoping you make it through Hell Week and enjoy that Warrior's Breakfast! Nothing quite like getting the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor in your hand! Semper Fi! HOOOAA!!!
Run Silent, Run Deep
Bridge At Remagen
Biloxi Blues
Memphis Belle
Empire of the Sun
Hell Is For Heroes
M*A*S*H (both the film and the TV series)

First of all, thank you for entering military service.
Now, the movies:
Downfall
A Midnight Clear
Joyeux Noel
When Trumpets Fade
Jacob's Ladder
First Blood (?)
...all incredible movies.
Courage Under Fire
Basic
The Generals Daughter
...all not so incredible, but worth watching.

My favorite war film hasn't been mentioned yet: The Red and the White. Andrzej Wajda may also be worth checking out. He's been making war films since the '50's including this year's Academy Award nominated Katyn.

E. Honda that post had my laughing.
Last night I added Tae Guk Gi and The Great Raid.
I saw 55 Days At Peking the other day. It was at GameStop, I guess they didn't have it in there computer so it was marked as a USED DVD for only 1.99. I'll have to grab that one. They have a decent deal by the way, buy 2 get 2 free, GameStop.
No I don't have A Few Good Men, yet. I need to pick that one for sure though.
You all gave me a lot of movies to look into. Thanks A LOT! This will keep me busy and time flying until arriving at Parris Island.
