"In Bruges" -- D: McDonagh -- S: Farrell/Gleeson/Fiennes
Just got back from seeing. What a great little film. Not a fan of Farrell's at all, but I thought this was his best performance ever. And it was great seeing Ralph Fiennes again. All three leads, including Brendan Gleeson were terrific. As was the screenplay. Will definitely pick this up on DVD. And will probably be on my year end best of '08 list. Rating 9.5/10.

I almost started a thread for this one the other day, so I'm happy to see it pop up. I loved the trailer, love the poster, so I'm really looking forward to it.
It's not a big shock, and totally expected, but Brian gave it a bad review here at DVDTalk.
Right now it's sitting at 71% on RT, and 8.1 at IMDB.
Roger Ebert gave it a very positive four-star review:

I can't wait!

Looking forward to this...looks hilarious. I was in Bruges back in 2000, so when I saw this trailer, I knew I had to see the movie. It's a cool little place, so I hope the movie isn't too mean to it.

The Bruges Chamber of Commerce should be delighted with at least part of Martin McDonagh's film In Bruges, as it provides an unprecedented and absolutely ravishing look at the architecture of this gorgeous Belgian town that appears to have been dropped into the 21st century from a pristine, fairy-tale version of the Middle Ages. They should be happy as a good number of people, after seeing the film, will be tempted to hop on the next flight to the little jewel box of a medieval village, all canals and pristinely preserved Gothic architecture.

The trailer looked funny. Not out in my neck of the woods (yet).

You will love this movie if you like the Jules/Vincent part of Pulp Fiction as well as movies like Snatch/Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. And The Bourne Identity/Ronin for the setting (European).

I've wanted to see this for months. I love the trailer/poster, but I read that the movie's marketing campaign is deceiving. Is this true?

This was one great film. Colin Farrell is outstanding. Although the city they were in was beautiful, Colin Farrell verbally trashes the hell out of it all through the film. The ending slightly confused me...is it a you your imagination ending or can someone send me a message and let me know how it ended in there view?

BTW, the only thing I didn't like about the movie was the length of time it took Fiennes to come down from the tower. In order to have the scene where Farrell and Gleeson talk. My friend said to me "How the hell long are those stairs anyway??".

Collin Farrell is funny IN Bruges
Collin Farrell is refreshingly funny, but Gleeson steals the show. This movie opened in Toronto on Feb 8th but I got a peak at a screened at work (this is Canada) and although I was only going to watch for a minute... The chemistry between Gleeson and Farrell is really good and so I sat down for a minute…

I ended up watching the whole film and even shedding a tear at the end. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Gleeson's work... his role of 'Ken' in this movie reminds me of Skipper on Gilligan's Island for some reason... and in fact Collin would be Gilligan if you can imagine that...
Ralph Fiennes is absolutely brilliant - he makes the third act dynamic so it propels to its horrible conclusion - which is a big surprise.

My favorite line is when Brendan Gleeson says 'Two mangy prostitutes and a racist dwarf, I'm out of here.'
I can honestly say that anyone who sees this movie will like Collin Farrell again and probably become a big fan of Brendan Gleeson.

I seen this the other night, and I can't remember laughing so hard in recent memory. I'm usually not a Collin Ferrell fan, but he was really good in this. It had a good mix of comedy and drama. Highly recommended.

the entire reason for Downey being brought out to LA was to lower Colin Farrell's salary on a film...
