Jumping Flash PS1 Game
Does anyone remember this game? My girlfriend was watching me play Mario Galaxy, and she said it reminded her of some game with a bunny. I myself never played, but I did remember reading about a game and was finally able to figure out the name. She said she loved it. I wanted to get it for her, but it's going for like 35 bucks at least on ebay. Any other suggestions on acquiring it? Is it worth it to get both? If you had to choose one would you take the original or the sequel?
Was the game any good? It had decent reviews from what I can tell, but like I said, I never played it.

I believe the original is available on the PS3 as a download, isn't it? There are actually two games, the original and a sequel, and I can't imagine either of them being particularly expensive. I also don't imagine it'll hold up all that well today, except for the nostalgia factor.

I figured they wouldn't hold up, but she wants to play it. I don't have a PS3 though.

If you have a PS3 the original is available as a $6 classic PS1 game download. If you
have the ability to play imports on your PS the initial Japanese version of JF 2 comes
with a second disc containing the original. This might be had cheap on Ebay. I'd
recommend both, great games that deserved to continue on into the next generations
(along with Motortoon).
There were also a few spinoff games like Pocket Muu Muu which contained download
games for the Pocketstation and Robbit Mon Deiu, but that's probably more than you
wanted to know

Jumping Flash was an amazing game back in the early days of the PSX. The feeling you got when you jumped high was really cool. I wish Sony would make a new sequel.

Jumping Flash! was... no, is... awesome. It's a clever mix of platforming and shooting in a first-person perspective. I still own both this game and its sequel for my PSone.
The visuals, as compared to today's standards, aren't going to win you over. The frame rate is generally 30fps, with some dipping at times. The textures can be rather pixelated. The character designs for the enemies are weird (or unique, take your pick). If you can look past the dated graphics, though, the feeling of jumping to obscene heights is still breathtaking at times. Seeing Robbit's little feet underneath you as you ascend hundreds of feet into the air or try to glide over some scary-looking chasms is enough to give you chills if you're afraid of heights.
The game is not hard. For the first game, you're probably looking at about 4-6 hours for the first playthrough. The sequel is a little longer.
Jumping Flash! is a significant game in the PlayStation library; considering that the game arrived at retail within the first 6 weeks after the console's release, it stands as one of the more unique experiences on the system.
I don't know if it's worth $35, though, as much as I love the game. The PS3 download is the way to go, if you have that ability. $6 for this game is a great deal.

Internet sales taxes are eventually going to become reality for more items, though, anyway.
