Favorite Moment(s) in Gaming
All of the Final Fantasy games were so thrilling to beat.
My favorite "OMG" moment was in World of Warcraft the first time I did the temple event in Zul'Farrak, you look down from the top of this pyramid to see what seems like hundreds of mobs down below and you feel like you've got no chance.
But my all time favorite moment so far in any game was also in WoW and it was the first time my guild beat Ragnaros in Molten Core early last year.

One of my favorites was in System Shock 2 when it was revealed that the only person who was trying to help you turned out to be your greatest enemy. Your entire world literally collapsed around you. Amazing sequence.
So many moments in the Half-Life series:
Half-Life: Finding out the military was coming to wipe you out instead of rescue you when the scientist goes running towards them and they blow him away right in front of you. Also walking in the desert and hearing some sand move and then BAM a headcrab comes jumping out at you from under the sand. Or hell, bashing in a grate in that room flooded with water and then a headcrab comes jumping out at you from the darkness. Or fighting that chopper on the side of the cliff while ascending and fighting off soldiers.
Half-Life 2: Watching Dog rampage through the city taking out the combine. Playing with the gravity gun for the first time. In the motor boat while that rocket takes out a tall smoke stack and racing to get past it in time before it collapses on top of you. Walking through City 17 for the first time. Finally arriving at the citadel and the subsequent sneaking into it. Using the reconfigured gravity gun. Ravenholm.
Half-Life 2 - Epi 1: Dog tossing Alyx and me into the citadel while in a car and the subsequent rollercoaster. Seeing the citadel in ruins. In the train-car full of those seekers I think they're called when it crashes and they are screaming at us from their restraints. Fighting in the darkness with Alyx using only a flashlight to light the way. The city exploding.
Half-Life 2 - Epi 2: Waking up in the collaopsed train. Seeing the Hunters for the first time. Fighting side by side with the Vorts. The tunnels fighting off the antlions and seeing the vorts take care of em all. Driving through the country side. Meeting a powerful big slug guy and seeing him eat the brains of the resistance member. The final strider battle. The ending.
Also, the set-pieces in the No One Lives Forever series are very memorable too, one in particular was riding on the back of a tricycle with the big burly guy steering through Paris while fighting on deadly mimes.

Recently, playing Heavenly Sword when you're at the level where you have to defeat 300 guys of an oncoming army. Seeing all those characters on screen was amazing as was being able to take out 300 of them without dying (and without the silly rocket launcher they give you)

Half Life. You're walking along a path cut into the side of a mountain when you see a pipe sticking out of the rock. You look in the pipe. A headcrab jumps out at you. You dodge. The headcrab flies past you and goes sailing off the cliff. Then you look down the the mountain to the ground and see a headcrab-colored pixel jumping back and forth.

Here are a few of mine:
** Metal Gear Solid (PSX): Snake's encounter with Psycho Mantis was awesome. Mantis made your controller move across the floor, detected your other Konami-based game saves, and required a pretty unique trick to defeat.
** Final Fantasy VII (PSX): Aeris' fate towards the end of Disc 1 is still one of gaming's all-time surprises. (For the handful of you who might not know, I won't give it away here... but many of you know about the incident to which I am referring.)
** Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader (GC): I've never seen the Death Star run so magnificently replicated as it was in this game. Factor 5 really nailed it with actual sound and cinema excerpts from the film and visuals that were amazing. The Battle on Hoth was hot, too.

Every time this is asked I always have to mention the last battle before the final boss in "Serious Sam: Second Encounter".
For those not in the know, the last level of this game is one big castle with a lot of long, narrow courtyards that each serve as an area for a massive enemy rush. After barely surviving numerous mass rushes, you leave the castle complex and enter a open, endless plain. In the distance is a gated fort and in between you and the fort is a small structure that you find out holds some much needed ammo and health. As soon as you grab that much needed ammo all hell breaks loose. The sky changes to cloudy and gray then enemies start appearing, then more, then more.
Then fireballs start falling from the sky.
These fireballs are crashing left and right and you are frantically running around shooting enemies coming from every direction, firing missiles and doing kamikaze runs all while praying the ammo doesn't run out before the ammo pack respawns.

Halo Series...I've always enjoyed the levels featuring Scarabs. Halo 3's Scarab levels were particularly breathtaking.
COD4:
The fate of the Marines. Wow, just wow....
The Sniper level...amazing.

From: Home of the 2009 Stanley Cup & Vince Lombardi trophy!!!
Halo 2, online Team Slayer. We're losing 49-45 on Zanzibar, 20 seconds left. I just got the rocket launcher and fired at two guys coming toward me (on catwalk). As the rocket hit them, a third guy came around the corner...triple kill. As I jumped over towrds where they were, two guys respawned right in front of me...double kill...GAME OVER, we win 50-49. The bummer is nobody on my team saw any of this happened as they were running around the map. If Halo 2 had the 'save video' feature like H3, I would watch those 20 seconds every single day, and I would send the video to my Mom, and all my friends.

Ending of Flashback: The Quest for Identity.
No, it wasn't great, but the sheer feeling of accomplishment was fantastic. That entire game is memorable to me.

Resident Evil -- The infamous "dog jumps through the window" scene. Still to this day the only time I have physically jumped in a video game.
Tomb Raider -- Many many scenes still stand out in my mind. The T-Rex, St. Francis Folly....what a great game that I totally vomit when I try to play
now!
Super Mario 64 -- The whole damn game. Never forget just running around with Mario in the courtyard right at the start, jumping and flipping in the sun. Made me fall in love with video games all over again.

Yeap, RE... when the zombie first grabbed your character's leg, scared the shit out of everyone (since the player screamed, everybody else jumped too). After that, it's the damn zombie dog in the hallway, shit... I gave in to the lickers (later RE games), sorry man, too much for me, my brother (a very good gamer) dislike them too (in the good way).
Too many good moments...

MOH:AA multiplayer - survived 13 clan players against me at Stalingard map. We was playing normal 14 vs 14 and all sudden they took 13 of my team out, leaving only me battle against 13. I managed to kill them all with shotty and 10% health left.
At that point, I have became one of most hated player and many, many clan teams trying to recruit me.
Call of Duty (first one) - during clan vs clan match at Bunker map. We were playing against #1 TWL ladder team, we battled so hard and tied at 4th round that forced overtime. The opponent team picked German and we had to play British. On that map, it is not exactly at British's advantage but German's. We managed to beat them and took #1 TWL standing. It shocked most TWL community because that team was probably one of best team in COD community.

Not exactly a gaming moment, but one of my favorite things in a game is the intro to Fallout 2 (Duck and Cover and all that). It totally got me in the mood to play the game, and I think every time I played the game I watched it. In fact I'm going try to find my fallout 2 disks and reinstall just to watch it when I get home today.

2. I heard that the SS2 went away from the wide open are madness/battles.

A couple off the beaten path from me:
1. Eternal Darkness - the save game deletion sanity effect
2. Serious Sam - Sam whistling the Indiana Jones theme in the first game (simple but very memorable)
