This set includes seven flipper discs with fifty episodes mainly grouped in themes rather than any chronological episode order. The pilot, for example, is not shown until the seventh disc, and the first disc is a three-part focus on Dr. Dian Fossey and her now famous gorillas. Big cats, sharks, polar bears, rare birds, and countless others are featured in episodes culled from the show's original run hosted by Marlin Perkins in the '60s and '70s, along with some from the mid '80s run with Fowler as host and Peter Gros as reporter.

Great program, good price but I remember there were image quality issues as mentioned in this review.

Under $9 on Amazon Marketplace right now. Also note that this set is incomplete compared to all the other smaller sets MCI released, and adds nothing new.

That's true, but for 12.00 it seems a little more economical for a Best of set than the smaller sets. I'd like to get them all, but will settle for this now (esp. since I got it so cheap). I picked this up for 6.26 (+2.98) ph at Amazon Marketplace a while back. This is also 12.95 on olides.com.

It seems though that BCI released single-sided discs for their seperate releases, but double-sided discs for their complete/combo sets. They did it with He-Man, Filmation Sci-Fi Box Set, among some others that escape my mind at the time. Though it seems (like this one), that the combo sets sometimes do not include everrything in the seperate sets.

Yeah, I know this is a thread bump from 12/07 but nobody cared to amend the title with Wild Kingdom? Of course, I sort of knew what it was pertaining to before opening the thread as the sponsor, Mutual of Omaha is synonymous with that show.

I think that "Mutual of Omaha" was an attempt to cash in on the success of the show by starting up an insurance company ...
