Best Buy T-day & Doorbuster preview
I got an e-mail from BestBuy this morning with their Doorbusters, Bonus Specials and Thanksgiving ad. Here are the links. Have a happy and safe Turkey Day.

How to Shop the Friday Doorbusters Specials at Best Buy
Hoping to get in on the amazing deals at Best Buy on Friday, November 23? You'll need to get there early in the morning, way before the stores open at 5 a.m.
Here are a few things to know before you go:
Prior to opening, a line of customers will form outside the store.
Starting at 3 a.m., with the front of the line, employees will hand out tickets to customers for Doorbuster and Bonus Doorbuster products (these are the front cover and BestBuy.com limited-quantity items, excluding CDs, DVDs and video game software).
The tickets, limited to 1 ticket per customer per item, will grant you the ability to buy the Doorbuster items.
These tickets are valid for a limited time. The products requiring a ticket must be purchased, or in your hand, by 9 a.m. This is when the remaining inventory, if available, will be released to the general public.
We are unable to guarantee all customers in line will receive a ticket. See Customer Specialist for details.

Sounds like 1 of each doorbuster per person?

I wish it was clearly laid out what items would be available online in that 3rd document. I know most items are in-store only, and the 1st two links above clearly state in store only, but the 3rd link with the 12 page ad does not. But I highly doubt that entire ad will be available online... I think the actual ad does say "in store only" for some items, or has a little picture showing it is available online, but you can't view it on the online ad since it is too small. Their pop-up windows give you very limited information. But they did manage to put "available only at best buy" by their 37" Dynex TV (which is very amusing, because Dynex is best buy's brand, thus obviously only available at best buy)

I'm sort of glad there aren't the PS3/Wii lines to contend with this year. I would see high school and college kids waiting in lines for many different stores (they were organized, staying in contact via text messages and cell calls) to score PS3s and Wiis and then flip them on Ebay.

....go to Borders on Wednesday, get the DVD's you want....eat like a pig on Thanksgiving, sleep in on Friday, then wake up, scratch your nuts and watch "Knocked Up" while everyone else fights over a $20 toaster at Best Buy.
I've went in year's past, but not this year.
Granted it's $2 more per disc, but it's a much better deal IMO.

I went by my local BB last year around midnight Thursday, after I got off work, and the line was already 300-400 people deep. The 3AM thing is actually pretty good. That way they're giving you 2 hours to pack up all your line waiting gear, relax, and head in for your doorbuster at your leisure when the store opens. No fighting over TVs and computers...unless you want one that isn't a doorbuster that is...
UPDATE: I just stopped by my local Best Buy to pick up my Live Free Or Die Hard SteelBook, and the line for BF has already started. Two people were camped out. Jeez.

insanity
My wfie and I took our daughter to see "Enchanted" today since we were both off work (good family film, btw) and there were already about 10 tents going around the side of the building! Granted, this is Tampa and it's not cold, but is it worth saving some cabbage to piss in a can and miss out on a real Thanksgiving Day Dinner...you know, with football, and 2nd healpings, a whole plate of desert, etc!!!!
I'll be shopping online, and I will probably pop into Target since there's a new one not far from my house.
Anyone have any best on what people would camp out for? I honestly don't get it.

Does anybody think the Xbox will sell out quick? I would understand selling out quickly if it came with GHIII, but if it's just GHII will it be an item where people camp out for?

IE, call to see which stores will actually control the lines, and not just let it be a free for all.
