I think it just means if you buy both versions of Hairspray (the single-disc version of the musical, and the John Waters film), they'll be $20 total.

In for both seasons of The Closer. Caught a few episodes and they were pretty entertaining (yet another TV series to add to the backlog...lol).

That's got to be a new low for one of these major studio release DVD sales. I think the lowest before has been Wal-Mart's $3.88 sales.

Rob is correct, it looks like the single disc Hairspray and the original John Waters version.

Star Wars is the 4 disc edition with Luke & Leia on the cover with Luke holding the light sabre above his head.

Rumor has it Wal-Mart will have some dvd titles on sale for 2.97 come Black Friday!

^ not as good a price as their $1.88 BF deals last years... the selection was kinda blah, but that's the lowest i think i've ever seen for brand-new major-release studio titles.

To answer my own question, I saw the CC ad, and the ad only shows the gold fullscreen 4-disc set rather than the silver widescreen 4-disc set that I pictured above. I hope it's not the fullscreen only versions that are on sale.

Man now I have to go and pick up the first two seasons of The Closer. My wallet really does hate this time of year.

Regarding the B2G1F on HD-DVD and Blu-ray, I notice in the ad it doesn't say anything about "Select titles only". Wonder if it works on all titles? Circuit City has been known to do that in the past, purposely or not...

I was wondering the same thing. What I noticed is it says the free title must be equal or lesser value, yet all of the ones listed in the ad are the same price. I thought it was kind of useless to have that in there if it did not apply to all titles.

I called my local CC and the guy said it covers all titles for HD DVD and BD. I went to Best Buy and asked them to pricematch (had reward zone $ for helping friends find TVs). Best Buy asked to see the ad, but didn't say anything about the titles shown.

Picked up Transformers, Bourned Identity, and Hot Fuzz. This could be a YMMV...but I think all HD DVDs and BDs are included in the sale.

The footloose DVD is 4.99, which brings it over the threshold and you can return anything you want to the store ... (in case you only want a few of the 2.99 titles). Believe me, most of the good stuff WILL NOT be available in the store.

So some of the Circuit City prices on HD-DVDs are a bit high, at least online (ie, 12 Monkeys as $29.99, whereas its $17.99 at Best Buy. If I tried a pricematch at Circuit City, would they let me get the same prices as Best Buy has and do B2G1, or would I only be able to either pricematch or do B2G1? And would Bestbuy.com be a valid source for a pricematch, since these DVDs arent listed in the ad?

I went into my local store this morning, and they checked and only the titles displayed rang in for the buy 2 get 1 free deal. So this is YMMV.

I also saw Last Action Hero (FS), The Producers (Mathew Broderick) in the $2.99 bin.
