Just watched the docs and there is a small blurb on disc 9 from Sigourney where she says something alongs the lines "Maybe in Alien 5". Have any of you heard anything regarding the future of the franchise and what their plans are? I would love love LOVE Ridley to come back on board and do a prequel where he explains the origin of the alien planet and where those other lifeforms were that they found near the ship's wreckage. What do you guys think?

I think Fox made it's choice when it went the AVP route, the best we can hope for is a couple more decent movies in that series... and no chance Weaver will be in those.

I think 3&4 are bad enough.

A prequel would be nice, but I'd settle for a nice prequel graphic novel and be spared the possibility of FOX screwing it up.

I wouldn't be surprised if she did if they show her the money. Alas, though, couldn't pick either choice as I expect it will suck (although I'd still see it probably the first day)

Its better than Alien 3 & 4, but it still causes me to wince every time I see it.

Unless Cameron and Scott are on board, there's no reason to bother.

Had to give it a don't hold your breath. Possible but would need a lot to save it from the memories of #4.

I'd be down for a prequel, depending on who'd do it, but it wouldn't (and shouldn't) feature Ripley. As far as I'm concerned Ripley is dead and the series is done with her.

And I'm the other one... As far as I'm concerned there is no Alien 4, that flick was dreadful.

They need to come up with a way to explain how Alien 3 never really happened, and then give us a grown up Newt.

I think the only way we'd see it is if they remade ALIEN and Sigourney played a totally different character.
