Björk: North American Tour
Bjork Comes Back to North America This Fall
Will that Björk ever quit? We sure hope not! Following tours and new albums and singles alike, you'd think she'd wanna take a nap or hang out with her kids or something. Not our Björk, though; when it comes to her public, she just gives and gives. And it's a good thing, too, 'cuz from her, we'll gladly just take and take.
She's added a few North American dates to her continuing trek in support of the colorful Volta. Atlanta, Detroit, Montreal, and New York, you're in luck. But don't you weep, continent: we have a feeling there are more dates on the way.
Björk:
07-13 Bilbao, Spain - Guggenheim Esplanade
07-15 Segovia, Spain - Palacio Real de la Granja
07-18 Madrid, Spain - Plaza de Toros Las Ventas
07-21 Udine, Italy - NoBorders Festival
07-25 Nyon, Switzerland - Paleo Festival
08-21 Nimes, France - Arénes de Nimes *
08-23 Nimes, France - Arénes de Nimes *
08-26 Paris, France - Rock en Seine Festival
08-31 Stradbally, Ireland - Stradbally Estate (Electric Picnic)
09-02 Argyll, Scotland - Connect Festival
09-08 Toronto, Ontario - Virgin Festival
09-11 Detroit, MI - Fox Theatre
09-14 Austin, TX - Zilker Park (Austin City Limits Festival)
09-17 Atlanta, GA - Fox Theatre
09-21 Montreal, British Columbia - Jacques Cartier Pier
09-24 New York, NY - Madison Square Cargden

"Will Bjork ever quit"
Puh-leeezzz
Apparenty, she quit touring most of North America!! WTF!!
I don't want to drive 8 hours to see her play 30 minutes at some fuckin' hippie/alternative music fest and I can't make it to Europe. So I guess I'm screwed. Hopefully she'll add LA but I'm not holding my breath.
Was she assaulted in LA? Why does she keep giving us The Finger? You can't skip LA. I mean you can skip MI, Washington DC, and most of Canada but not LA.

I've never been able to see Bjork in concert and I hate that. Her only Texas show is in Austin at an all-day festival. I won't be able to go to an all-day festival due ot other responsibilities. I hope she adds a Dallas show that I can attend.

I've seen her 3 times, first was the Post Tour. Awesome.
At Axis in Boston, either axis or Avalon, can't remember.
She just came through SF, but played at the shitty shoreline so I boycotted her!

I'm mildly annoyed there aren't more North East shows that aren't festivals - and I refuse to see anything on Toronto Island again after, ironically, seeing Bjork there in 2002. What a nightmare it was to get off afterwards.
However, considering "Volta" hasn't really warmed for me and the setlists and live stuff I've heard from this tour have been a bit underwhelming, I guess I'm not too disappointed to have to pass. Besides, the 2002 show - despite venue issues - is as good as modern-day Bjork is gonna get I've got a feeling, so I'm bound to be disappointed anyways.
Such is life.
