Interpol-Our Love to Admire-Review
Well just listen to new cd and I will tell you it come off just little bit of a let-down.Not sayin that's bad just that it's sounds to much of same ground cover before (Turn on the bright lights,Antics).People old to Interpol will like a few tracks:
Rest My Chemistry is pure joy hear and get my vote for next single.
Wrecking Ball sounds like there in a bathroom when they recorded this track very raw sounds me like alot.
Lighthouse sounds like a Westen theme from the 60's and it's find with me and this maybe in my mind there best song period on this cd.
Then there is the "Dark"--Pioneer to the falls-- very strange and haunting sounds way ahead of them for there ages.
Well that all I am reviewing for this so that you can get a guess for rest of this bitter sweet cd that's very good but could have been so much better.

I think, more importantly, why didn't you post this in the already existing thread?

After several listens, I'm really digging this album. Although not as good as TOTBL, I think it is as good if not better than Antics. Pioneer to the Falls is just classic Interpol - very TOTBL-esque. The Lighthouse is also a very brave, but incredible, departure from their previous offerings. Great way to close the album. So after three consistently good albums, I can now safely state that Interpol have secured a spot in my top 20 bands of all time.

I'm actuallly a little disappointed by the album. So far, I've just listened to it just once but nothing really grabs me. For Antics and Turn Off the Bright Lights, almost every song was memorable but so far, only Heinrich Manuever and Rest My Chemistry have really grabbed me. But maybe it'll grow on me with a few more listens.

The thing with this album is that it's a bit to spacey & soundscapey for an Interpol album. It kinda lacks the concentration of TOTBL and the hooks of Antics. I hope it grows as well. Otherwise I won't purchase it.
