The Sopranos - "I'm Not Like Everybody Else" song...who's performing?

And don't tell me its The Kinks, because the Kinks version sounds nothing like the version I heard when Tony left Janice's house (Livia's former house) after he broke her down from her high horse from "Anger Management."

Depression is rage turned inward, or something to that effect from Dr. Melfi. Janice took Anger Management, and she was no longer angry or full of rage, and Tony was bothered by this because he couldn't shake the opposite feeling. So, at dinner, Tony does everything he can to shake Janice up, and after bringing up her long-lost son Harpo, she finally snaps and chases Tony around the table with a butter knife.

The last scene from that episode has Tony leaving Janice's house, and "I'm Not Like Everybody Else" was playing. I checked HBO's site, and it says The Kinks, but it was darker and moodier than the Kinks version I heard. Sounded more like Tom Waits.

Any ideas?

It's The Kinks. Sounds just like them. I'm guessing it's an updated version on To The Bone, but I don't have that one so I'm not positive.

(I love the Boss Hog version of this song.)

Ive been wondering this same thing for quite some time myself now.
I know its not tom waits and i too believe it's the Kinks but it sounds like it could be a live version of this song.
