Does anyone have any idea for sure, why he doesn't get involved with the extras for his movies anymore? The last one was for FBDO, 8 years ago. Is he embarrassed by them, or completely burnt-out by them? Anyone?

I have read he is just notoriously shy, he hasn't done any kind of interview since 2000 according to an EW article I read. I don't know why he is that way, but some of the greatest directors who have ever lived have been very reclusive. The Late Stanley Kubrick and Tarrence Malick are good examples.

Maybe he's just loaded and doesn't want to be bothered. No telling how much money he made in the 80's.
