Secret of Nimh "Family Fun Edition"... are you serious?!!!...

Does any else get bothered when marketers completely miss the point of the movie they are trying to market and make the packaging scheme a total sell out operation?... Secret of Nimh is a very dark and "adult" cartoon... The packaging has a lot of potential to be awesome and true to concept... Now it appears to a lame rehash with a disrespectful agenda to the film... It's the same as Hooters claiming to be a "family restaurant"... yeah right... who the hell are you kidding...

I agree it's pretty bad, but Voyage to the bottom of the sea, global warming edition, is absolute shit.

I would have loved one with a black cover that just had the movie's title written in the same style as it appeared in the opening sequence. That would be awesome and to the point. As long as it isn't edited, I will get the DVD this Tuesday. If the whole family watches the movie, they will find out just how much "fun" this movie can be.

Amazon lists it as widescreen. if this is true, I'll be buying it to replace my foolscreen copy. But the name definitely stinks.

Deliverance: The Anal Rape Edition

Wait, that's actually a lot more accurate than "family fun" is for SoN.

Hey now, they can call it the "Smells Like a Pile of Rat Crap Edition" and I'd still buy it. Been waiting for a better version of this movie for years!

I got mine from DeepDiscount on Friday. First disc has the movie in both wide & full. Second disc is perhaps the most useless fucking disc in 2 disc SE history. ONE 14 minute featurette & 5 set top kiddie games. That's it. Nothing else. I don't even count the idiotic set top games which means they actually put out a 2nd disc for one featurette. You get more with the paper sleeve bonus discs for free at Best Buy or Circuit City. Usually 15-30 minutes & a half dozen trailers at the least. At least the movie disc is top notch & low priced but disc 2 is just a total waste.

^that's disappointing.

Anyone know the cheapest price for this? I didnt see it in any of the Sunday ads. It looks like DeepDiscount.com has it for $13.66 right now...

I watched it as a kid, and it was fun. Sounds like someone needs reassurance that it's okay for an adult to like a kid's movie.
