A Sopranos feature film: would you go?

I would, as long as David Chase made it and didn't try to do a bunch of new stuff out of left field to make it palpable to potential new audience members. I just wonder if the fans would show up after so many feeling spurned by the finale.

I would because I like the show but I don't think it will happen. Where could it go really? It would just be more of the same.

I don't ever see it happening but I'd gladly come back for more. One of the best shows EVER on TV, how could I pass up seeing a film?

I'll see it as long as David Chase is kept away from it.

Nope. I'd rather not wash down poo with more poo. I should have quit after season 4.

Based on this, I'm already planning on going with my gut and bailing on Prison Break unless season 3 is better than I think it will be.

Only if they show it only on HBO. I don't think I want to make a trip to the theatre for a Soprano movie.

It would be a crime to NOT make one after David Chase left so much unresolved in the finale.

I'm pretty sure I can agree with this. Chase wont do a film. He ended it perfectly.

Nope, My Co-Worker loves the Sopranos and he wanted me to come over & watch the series finale with him (& It was his birthday) so I came over and even through I am not a fan of The Sopranos I watched it anyway and althrough some people might not have liked the finale, I thought it was better then people give it credit for plus at least It wasn't quite as annoying as sitting through that Seinfeld series finale which was another similar situation in which I didn't like the show but someone else wanted to see it and not watch it alone.
I know this isn't the same exactly but I thought the Homicde: Life on the street series finale episode was great but they ruined it with the TV Movie they made. I think they should just leave the Sopranos as is unless its done as a HBO TV movie.

Hell I want them to make a Larry Sanders show movie (Or Sony could just bring out seasons 2-6 on DVD damn it!).

Duh - a movie can't be made without Chase. If that were the case, HBO would continue the show without him.

Chase isn't ruling out a movie, but if he does one, it will almost certainly be a flashback. Either to a period earlier in the series (which will be problematic, since the actors have aged) or - most likely - a flashback to Tony in his younger days (played by a different actor).

Duh, I know he's the guy who created the show, but he's also the guy least qualified to continue the story. See what I'm saying? Jeez.

Yes, I see what your saying. No, it doesn't make any more sense the second time.

No way. I can live with the ending now, cause it is leaving it up to the viewer to interpret it anyway they want to. But if he does a Sopranos movie, then it was just a cheap stunt to leave Tony & the family open for a movie, with flashbacks of Chrissy, Big P., and Silvio.

Please Mr. Chase, DONT DO IT!!!!!

I think a novelization continuation is the far more likely scenario. And even then, it's probably 5 years away.

It makes sense if you wanted the movie to be something other than low quality.

Considering how much of the last few seasons of the Sopranos have been handled by other writers, and how bored David Chase sounded about the whole thing lately, combined with the non-ending of the series finale, is it really so surprising that I think that someone else may be better equipped to continue the Sopranos story than Chase?

‘Sopranos’ movie in the works?
By Denette Wilford

2008-03-07

Don’t stop believing, ‘Sopranos’ fans

Tony and the gang may not be swimming with the fishes after all.

Satin Dolls, which served as the filming location for the Bada Bing, Silvio Dante’s strip club and Tony’s favourite hangout, had big plans to renovate the building when The Sopranos ended.

But the Times Herald-Record reports that those renos have been put on hold and, according to Nick D’Urso, the manager of Satin Dolls, there are plans to film a Sopranos movie.

Though D’Urso refused to name names, he insists it’s all on legit.

“I got an inside tip that they’re going to do a movie, so I don’t want to make any major changes,” said D’Urso. “I’m not going to reveal my sources, but we got a call from somebody (working) on the script.”

HBO replied to D’Urso’s claims with a “no comment.”

After 86 episodes, the series ended somewhat anticlimactically, as Tony and his family sat at a diner table while a suspicious character lurked nearby. The show then cut to black with Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” playing in the background, leaving fans forever wondering.

Well, maybe not forever, after all.
