sorry for the late response, for some reason I wasn't expecting what I watched, which was good... what struck me was the cinematography which made up for a bare as bones premise/storyline - the outcome and overall tone of the film also I felt was appropriately emotional yet distant. Didn't realize there would be 'fogging' but since I had seen other films of this Japanese genre, it wasn't a major distraction.
