I watched My Sassy Girl two or three years ago and it was instantly one of my favorites. Yesterday I watched it for the second time and didn't like it as much. Probably wouldn't even be in my top 25 now.

Shrek (the first one) is the most prominent I can think of.

Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang. Absolutely fell in love with it the first time I saw it (on movie channel), went out that week and bought the dvd. Watched pieces of it here and there afterwards, and it's still good, but it never quite grabbed me the same way. I think a lot of the charm of the film is watching it for the first time.

The Punisher

I usually go the other way... I don't care for movies the first time around, then I like them much better the second time.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. The first time I saw it I thought it was very entertaining and seeing Davy Jones & co. was truly incredible. Second time though, I really noticed the flaws in the plot structure and some of the action sequences just went on-and-on. Still, it's a fairly entertaining movie, though I'm already questioning if At World's End is already too long at a near three-hour running time.

I have this problem in spades. I think I just have a very active imagination and I start to imagine the movie as bigger and better than it really is, or I just over-watch it (I show a lot of movies to my friends). My cinephile friends hate me because it makes my opinion so worthless sometimes.

Yep, happens quite a bit. The first time it's great, the second time it's not at all.

On the opposite end, I've found that movies I watch and don't like, then watch again and do like, become some of my favorite movies.

The Matrix, Blade, and Gladiator.

I'm of the 2nd variety as well. Some movies I couldn't stand the 1st time: Billy Madison and Dumb and Dumber that I loved the 2nd time. I've been fighting the urge to re-watch Van Helsing as I HATED that in the theater. Part of me thinks that I just had the wrong type of expectations for it though...

I really liked Batman Begins the first time. Now it seems too long and unfocused with too many comic book/ Hollywood cliches. I still like it, it's just more and more of a standard comic book movie every time I watch it.

This only happens to me with movies I had either seen when I was a kid or it had been 5+ years since last viewing. I'm more on the other side as far as hating it the first time and enjoying more the 2nd time around. I hated Revenge of the Sith at the theater and then watched again on DVD and love it. I've watched it a dozen times and it never gets old. I wasn't a big fan of Spider-Man 2 the first time but enjoyed it much more now. However I don't think anything is going to help me enjoy Spidey 3 in the future.

Watchoski Brothers' BOUND - at the time, this movie was so exciting in the theater and Jennifer Tilly and Gina Gershon were so hot. But now they are so skanky, so it's hard to watch this film again. One of the best lesbian movies though. The number one lesbian movie is Germany's Aimée & Jaguar (a WW2 movie involving a jewish and german lesbian love affair while running away from the nazis - great flick and true story!)

I've given a few films another chance and most of the time my original opinion stands. Only exceptions were Lost In Translation (just a tad better) and Infernal Affairs 2 & 3 (much better, but i'm thinking watching VCD the first time is a big reason).

Spider-man is the one that immediately comes to mind. I liked it in the theater, ran out and bought the DVD the first day of release, watched it again and realized it's not a very good film.

Garden State.

Pulp Fiction. I really liked it when I first saw it, but when I see it on cable (premium channel, not the sliced up Bravo mess), I never even stop and watch anymore.
