Is Southern Comfort a Vietnam movie? I haven't seen it in a long time but I thought it was National Guard versus Hicks.

I like Platoon, Apocalypse Now, and The Deer Hunter almost equally, though if I had to choose one, it'd be Platoon.

I've got to say my favorite Viet Nam movie by far is...

The Green Berets!

Long live The Duke! (Just a damned entertaining movie with a great cast led by John Wayne!)

Apocalypse Now
"What's up with your ass now, *****? Haha!"

The Deer Hunter
"Di-di mau! Mau!"

Full Metal Jacket
"Get some, get some, yeah, get some baby!"

Platoon
"You lie, no you lie! You VC!"

I love the absurdity in Vietnam War movies.

You do know that The Duke made The Green Berets like uncle-sam poster of the day and thousands of young men and women ran-off to inlists in Vietnam to die for un-just clause. So hats off to John Wanye for helping in the war-machine that was Vietnam. The Us govement made (3 Billion-dollars in just 4 years from the blood of young men and women). That does not set well in my heart! how about you guys.

Or maybe the North VietNamese really were the bad guys (and they were) and that entire region would have been better off had they been defeated. But that's a political discussion (and it's not just black and white), and we're talking about movies.
