Whoa! Point Break 2 Is Happening......
Whoa!
"Patriot Games" scripter Peter Iliff is to write and direct "Point Break 2," a 20 years later sequel to the surfing crime thriller that he co-wrote in 1987 and was a hit for Largo Entertainment in 1991 reports Variety.
The $20 million-$30 million new film will be set in Southeast Asia and uncover the fate of the surfers' leader Bodhi who was supposedly killed by a giant wave.
Action follows a surfer-turned-SEAL on the trail of a criminal gang. Locations being scouted include Indonesia and Singapore, and production schedule sees lensing starting by the end of current year with delivery for late 2008.
No Reeves no Swayze no deal for me.....hey maybe they can cast Don Swayze instead.
Though I did moderately enjoy Road House 2 minus Swayze so who knows

Wait. Bohdi becomes a SEAL?
I enjoyed the first but I don't see how a good sequel could ever be made.

Count me as another that would watch if it was the further adventures of Johnny Utah.

Wow. If they got the leads back they could have Constantine on the trail of a precocious ghost, combining three (OKtwo) previous hits in a demographic quilt so diverse that every person on the planet will go see it. And buy the DVD.

It's official, the well in Hollywood is now officially dry. I thought this thread had to be a joke. Of course Swayze is available. Why wouldn't he be? And not sure why Reeves wouldn't do it. The original was very entertaining. But it's too late for a sequel IMO.
