"old" X Files @ Costco - $23.39

YMMV on this, but when I was in the local Costco the other day they had all 9 seasons of the older versions of 'The X Files' for $23.39, which to me is definitely a major bargain.

Apologies if this was already posted somewhere. Searched and didn't see it and figured it deserved a thread of its own.

Mine had this for $23.99. I went ahead and picked up season 6 which I missed last time around.

The thing I dislike about this board is the Costco threads because I get too jealous. There's no Costco even remotely close to here.

And I live in SoCal where you could have a 100 Costcos and eBayers would snap up from all 100 in a jiffy.

I just picked up sets 4-9 at the Van Nuys, CA store.

ETA: They probably had about 20 sets left, varied seasons.

I'd like to get these, though have never actually gone in Costco. I had been lead to believe you have to join like Sam's Club, which kills it for me.

Thats exactly the seasons I want. Is there anyway you can pick 4-9 for me and I can come and pick it up from you ? I am in SoCal too. Please email me at '[email protected]' if you can do this favor for me. Thanks in advance.

too bad many of dvd Costco have for sale in the brick and mortar store is not available on line since there is no Costco store where I live. Also, the search engine on the costco website is really bad. They need to improve this as I think they are losing out on a lot of potential sales

Does anyone else think that Fox will be putting together a X-Files box set with the complete series and maybe even the movie? I think it's just a matter of time before we see it!

La Habra, Ca Costco has them, I just purchased seasons 4-7 I'm skipping 8 and 9 (just because I didn't care for those seasons), but they do have all of the sets. I also remember seeing them last week at both the Los Feliz and Burbank Costco locations.

I wouldn't trust any Costco employee on the other end of the phone to give you accurate stock information... they can be as clueless as any Best Buy sales person, go there and find these sets yourself. They have them.

Well "just a matter of time" considering the final season came out, when? 5/11/04? Truthfully until the rumors of a second movie are completely kaput, I doubt you'll ever see a series set release. The extras included in these sets are pretty decent. I would pick them all up if you saw them for this price.

If you're up in Canada and still looking for these, I've seen the first few seasons of 'old' boxsets at Walmart around here for C$18.9x.

I have a friend looking for me, thanks for the info. I'd rather have these original sets, rather than the new slims. It's the only thing that stopped me from getting the slims for roughly 2/$25 at dvdplanet a few months ago. Hope I can find these.

I'm thinking that if there were any plans to do that then when they released the new slim sets would have been the time to do it.

Still, I'd love to get my hand on the filing cabinet style box set that was released in a different region a couple of years ago.

Does anyone have a link to that?
