While this Twin Peaks case may or may not apply, there is room for more than one thread per topic guys. It's not like the DVDTalk forum is seing super high traffic.

But at some point in those longer threads the discussion stagnates. When breaking news comes out about the set, a new thread would be preferred because if you see the old thread bump back up you may or may not pay attention to it. Old long ass Star Wars threads especially....
And I think the Log Lady intros is pretty big news. A lot of fans were disappointed, and maybe waiting to see if they would come out in the full series set later on. Making a new thread with this news can only help, IMO>
