Even MORE brains! "The Return of the Living Dead" SE DVD coming?

I got an e-mail today from Nicholas DiPirro, webmaster of GutznGory.com and www.beverlyrandolph.com (the latter being the official web site of our "Living Dead" co-star, Beverly Randolph) and he informed me that Beverly told him something VERY exciting that should make ROTLD fans VERY happy.

While the subject line was a dead....give-a-way (WTF? Am I the Cryptkeeper now?) you'll have to head on over to my ROTLD DVD web site at

http://members.tripod.com/~evilbaby/ROTLD.html and click on the news section to read all about it.

Come back here and discuss the exciting possibilities!

Great news if true. Hopefully we'll get the uncut version and that Linnea is involved with the commmentary.

I have no problem double dipping since this is my favorite zombie movie of all time.

Great news; I have some great memories of this film, and own the current DVD, but would gladly double-dip!

If this happens Mike, please make them offer the original audio mix and the 'bannon' remix to solve that huge issue which plaqued the last release. The original audio mix is one of the things which made the film a fan favorite, and to have it altered detracks from the otherwise great film.

So the best alternative is to offer both mixes to make the fans and Bannon happy.

I'd like to see the original audio on this release too, if at all possible.

I am one of those 'less passionate' DVD purchasers who just shrugs and puts up with audio glitches and mis-framed shots...

But I would without a doubt re-buy Return of the Living Dead for the original audio mix.

Count me in for a double dip as well. One of my favorite zombie movies...

I've been waiting patiently for the SE to be released ever since the original version came out with the promise that if enough people bought it, a SE would be made. Is it now yet?!

Well, I will say that as much as I like ROTLD, I will only double dip if the original soundtrack is added in. But if perchance it is, I will definitely double dip. And I virtually never, ever double dip for SE releases.

ABSOLUTELY would double-dip on this, if upgraded video or audio, but would prefer the fixed audio mentioned : )

Updated my web site with news on Dan O'Bannon's involvement with the new DVD. Check out the news section to read what's going on.

A simple "no Dan involvement" comment would have been better than another ad for your website.

If this came in some sort of special "half dog" shaped dvd case I would definitely be interested.

First, there are far more details regarding this situation that a simple statement would do justice to. I added a big update on the details I received just moments ago.

Second, if all I'm going to do is simply copy/paste what I write on my site on every important forum on the 'net then why bother having a web site? The site is there for a reason. I spend a lot of time on it trying to give fans all the info they want and need in one place so it would make sense for folks to be directed there. Like most other sites, I don't want my work spread all around everywhere willy nilly. There's a place to go for it and my site is that place.

Great site, Mike and I applaud you for taking the time to "spearhead" the campaign for an SE. Although I'm not a huge ROTLD fan (yet, but your site makes me want to revisit it soon), I'll definitely douple-dip on this to help the cause of future releases. Thanks.
