I figured it'd do about 5, so wasn't too far off, should do better on Saturday and about on par on Sunday. Hopefully Epic Movie will tumble Saturday.

What's interesting is that none of the big Oscar movies got that much of a bump, which almost always happens. The Queen got a slight boost, but Babel and Letters from Iwo Jima didn't score in the top 11. Babel re-expanded recently and the fallout from the Globes didn't help it at all.

Of course, the two big earners in the Picture race, Little Miss Sunshine and The Departed, aren't in wide release anymore, though The Departed may be back in theaters on Friday.

Sucks that movies like Epic Movie will gross more than Children of Men.

This has the potential of being the worst top 5 ever.

The Departed was back on 1,453 screens and made $780,000. Babel was on 1,090 screens and got $640,000. And Letters from Iwo Jima is still only on 415 screens, so it's hardly opened wide.

Glad to see Pans doing good but who the bloody hell gone to Epic Movie to see it??

I wish more people would go see Last King of Scotland, I loved that movie.

Smokin' Aces had a $17m budget? Guess some of my complaints against the movie make more sense now.

I'm really surprised ... that they're legally charging people to go see "Epic Movie". They must have forced them or tempted them with free concessions

at Blood and Chocolate. That movie looked so bad, people in the audience were laughing at the trailer.

Same here. If the name was different it would've made $1MM more.

I know Blood and Chocolate was the name of the book, but agree, the name killed it.

Epic Movie wasn't that bad. It had more laughs than everyone is claiming.

They should've shown some in the trailer.

Spoofs like Epic Movie are easy to make, cheap and make a profit. Don't worry, there will be more on the horizon...............
