I think this is a cool idea for week-to-week threads: it's always nice to see what movies members are anticipating.

Maybe we could have the box office numbers in these too? Kind of roll them all up into one thread dealing with that week's releases and business?

There's also a massive expansion of movies in the Oscar race. I believe all these movies are now playing in more theatres than they have before:

Also, Babel (68%) is re-expanding again, although not to as many theatres as upon its initial release.

I'd like to go see Pan's, but it hasn't made it's way to Boise yet. So I'll probably go see The Hitcher and hope for the best. If it stinks I'll jump to Alpha Dog afterward just to get both out of the way.

I'm going to see Hitcher. They invaded where I work for 4 days of filming mid-2006, so I feel obligated to see the movie and spot my building.

Going to try to catch Pan's as part of my birthday celebration tomorrow, but I'm not sure how many people will be talked into it.

Not seeing anything this weekend

I voted none but I just found out Pan's is playing here now, so I will go see that this weekend.

I'm hoping that I can finally check out Children of Men.

I went to see Pan's Labyrinth tonight. The 7pm showing we went to was about half full, but the lobby was spilling out onto the street for the next showing when we left. I was quite disappointed in the movie, but I'm definitely in a minority there...

I just got back from The Queen, will likely be watching The Hitcher tomorrow and see if I can squeeze Pan's in before or after football on Sunday.

We shut down early at work yesterday, so I went and caught Pan's Labrinyth and Children of Men.

Luckily, Babel has returned here. I had missed it the last time around. We also got The Painted Veil, Letters from Iwo Jima, The Last King of Scotland, and Pan's Labyrinth.

Out of all of those, I plan to see Babel, King, and PL.

I'm going to catch Apocalypto and The Queen. Next weekend i'll be catching up on the Academy Award nominees I haven't seen yet.

Caught Babel on Friday, plan is to see The Queen and Children of Men on Monday and Tuesday after work. All re-appeared at my local theatre so I plan to take advantage of them before they leave again.
