What happened to The Polar Express Imax release

If I remember right every year they were going to release this at IMAX theaters. I don't think any theaters in California Showed it. Or did I just totally miss it. ?

it's still playing here in DC at the Natural History Museum, but of course because it's a museum engagement it can, and usually does, get a few showings cancelled on a whim.

According to BOM, it's only playing at 37 theaters. I think a lot of IMAX screens are probably still showing Happy Feet, since it's doing so well.

It's showing here along with a xmas short called Santa and the Snowman (or something like that). I heard that we get Happy Feet after that.

I have seen all the regular movies that have come to our Imax since they started showing them there. I have never seen Polar Express or Happy Feet. Are either worth the extra time and money to see them on the Imax screen?

'Polar Express' in IMAX 3D is simply amazing!! non 3-D prints like the one I saw last month at the Syracuse Museum of Science and Technology was underwhelming.

Yeah, I was really looking forward to seeing this in IMAX 3D again (I got to agree with the above poster...it's AWESOME in 3D!) and it's too bad it is playing in so few locations this time around. I guess with Happy Feet still performing very well and Night at the Museum opening in a few days, IMAX is actually kinda crowded with theatrical releases for a change. Maybe Polar will play in more IMAX screens next year

At least I got the HD DVD to enjoy.

Yeah, Polar Express 3D is very impressive, particularly the feather sequence. I saw it last year in an empty theatre!

Santa and the Snowman is also really good!

This is supposedly going to play again in December.

I was able to catch it in '05 but it didn't play in many theaters last year. Hope it comes to more this time as I would easily go again as I thought the 3D was stunning. More than likely, it will probably just be a very limited release since there are some mainstream IMAX films around the same time.

yes, it's pretty silly but quite entertaining.

Can't imagine that being a close call.

I Am Legend is going to be in IMAX in December also.
