Don't have time to make a full list, but I'd enjoy having some Deftones (My Own Summer), Dream Theater, Led Zepplin (Babe, I'm gonna leave you and many others.), Darkest Hour (The Sadist Nation, Tranquil), At the Gates, In Flames, and Dragonforce mixed in there.

Dream Theater, In Flames, and a bit of Dragon Force would be bad arse.

I don't think the game could keep up with some of the shred solos, given that a LOT of them are over 220 bpm, and they are playing 16th notes, or sextuplets in a lot of cases...

Some children of bodom would be nice too

Some Pearl Jam would be my top request, followed by Led Zeppelin.

Sadly, I don't think im familiar with that song, which is a little un-nerving. I was thinking more along the lines of Bodom Beach Terror, Bed of Razors, or even Silent Night, Bodom night.

most of the those rhythm sections are in the 120-145 range. Some of the solos get a bit crazy, what at 120 bpm, playing sextuplets. I suppose swept arpeggios would be pretty lame with the guitar hero controller, but it would be friggin fun as hell

Haha my bad, it's the Norther cover. Damn mislabeled erm audio shares (knew it didn't sound like them, tho the vocals are muted in the one I have)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THs2fI9HJQ0 (song, video is uhm, yeah...)

But yeah I agree, Bodom would be a great addition. Even if just as bonus tracks.

Edit: Spelt the band name wrong.

I'd love to hear a Built to Spill song like Time Trap or Virginia Reel Around the Fountain by the Halo Benders.

Also, Cake Stickshifts and Safety belts

Some Floyd would be great.

I just played GH 1 for the first time back in October. I was excited when I saw in the list of songs, Hey You.. Disappoint set it when I selected it and it wasn't the song I was expecting.

Still a good song now that I've listened to it more, but when you are expecting one song and hear another...

Pearl Jam and Zep would be great. Stairway especially, since they have a quote about that song in one of the games.

More Freezepop.

Bohemian Rhapsody..

I'm sure there are a ton of songs that we could all come up with.

I wish they would do their songs in sets, or have different genre versions. Like, I wish they would lump all their classic rock into one game, and it would appeal to that crowd.

I can't really see my metal influences being liked, or shared by too many people. Obviously, the songs that would appeal to me directly, would turn a lot of the people off.

Which is where the often rumored Metal Hero comes into play.

honestly, Tool would be pretty monotonous. I'm a big fan and all, but if you look at the guitar parts, they are less then demanding.

The bass parts would actually be more interesting

Bodom never did a cover of Final Countdown. This song was covered by two other Swedish metal bands (Norther and Dispatched), and they could probably be mistaken for Bodom.

Yup. Acknowledged that earlier in the thread. Though neither really sound like Bodom with the sound turned up to a reasonable level.

Sorry.. Didn't see that. I haven't heard the Norther cover, although I have one of their albums. I do have the album where Dispatched covered it though, and it's pretty good.

Oh, and my dream song for GHIII is Holy Diver by Dio.

I certainly would like some AC/DC in there. Maybe a live version of "Let There Be Rock" (complete with whole guitar solo) or the whole "Back In Black" album.

I can only play this game about twice a week though. My hands keep cramping up and hurt for days.

I'm in - are we sending a master request list to Harmonix? Make sure you add these (for me). Some of these would be insanely difficult.

"The King Is Dead" - A Wilhelm Scream
"Black Betty" - Spiderbait version
"By The Sword" - Ryan's Hope
"Naked Pictures (of Your Mother)" - Electric Six
"What the Hell is Stipulation" - Reggie and the Full Effect
"Stupid Kid" - Alkaline Trio

They would never go for it - they would think someone was stealing their songs somehow by learning how to play them on a plastic guitar. I'd be up for a Metallica song though - I'd also be up for a different and better Bad Religion song.

you could learn any metallica song by checking the copious amounts of guitar tablature sites that have tons of metallica songs tabbed out. The plastic guitar really doesn't translate TOO well to the real thing
