I've seen the Rocky movies 100's of times and I didn't even know that.

I did not know either. I had to look it up on imdb.com. They do not have a last name listed for Paulie on any of the movies.

Bonus trivia time:

By the time Rocky IV ends, what's Rocky's professional record? Hint-It's mentioned in part I. You just have to do the math for the rest of the sequels.

Funny sidebar: "Duke" (Tony Burton's character) was actually called just "Tony" in Rocky I & II, until it was changed to "Duke" in Rocky III. I think the end credits to IV have him listed as "Tony 'Duke'..." something or other (can't remember the last name) to correct this slip-up. I think basically the first few movies they just decided to use his real name, until he became more plot-essential in Rocky III. So I guess "Tony" is his character's given name, and "Duke" is a nickname.

Another Question:

At the beginning of ROCKY III in the parking garage, Rocky tells Paulie he married his sister because "she was pregnant". But in ROCKY II, Rocky marries Adrian BEFORE the two of them find out she's pregnant. What happened? Did Adrian miscarry a child we never heard about before Rocky, Jr. came along?

Yes. Her last name is mentioned in Italian during her wedding to Rocky in ROCKY II.

And you'll also probably see her full name written in ROCKY BALBOA.

Paulie: "Who fixed you up with your first woman? ME! Paulie, I was responsible!"

Rocky: "She was pregnant."


I think Paulie is referring to a woman that Rocky dated BEFORE Adrian.

I have TWO ROCKY Trivia questions:

Well Paulie definitely helped hook up Rocky with Adrian. So what are you saying, that Rocky has an illegitimate child out there somewhere?

I never assumed he was referring to anyone BUT Adrian. Anyone else with thoughts?

The statement does not imply Rock got the woman pregnant, nor that Adrian was Rock's first girl

I agree with GuessWho. It is even more evident when you consider Paulie's next line in the conversation: "So what? You was no prize either."

It is not talking about Adrian, but Rocky's first girl, and the state of both people when Paulie hooked them up.

I think at least one of the fight commentators appeared in every one, and the referee is in all but one, I believe. Mick might have appeared briefly in a flashback in IV, but I can't recall.

Mick was in V, but not IV. Stu Nahan, who plays one of the commentators, was in all but the first Rocky movie. One of the commentators from the first movie has appeared in all of the movies, but in different roles. Lou Fillipo played a referee in movies II through V.
