HD in the UK
So to all in the UK, when are you planning on investing in HD-DVD Blu-Ray, or both?
What players are you looking into, and have you found any decent prices?
I'll probably collect both formats, use a PS3 as my Blu-Ray player, and when prices fall look into a HD-DVD Player that also upscales SD-DVD.
Amazon/Play are both selling HD-DVDs and Blu-Ray discs even tho the lack of players over here.

Is the only HD-DVD player I can find at the moment.

I've just been sent my xbox 360 HD-DVD player, should get it in a couple of days. I have MI:3 ready to go aswell as the King Kong you get with it. I really don't want to go for Blu-ray (at least until it gets alot better, and cheaper!).
The higher spec Toshiba is not out yet and when I learnt about the low number of the 360 HD-DVDs brought into the country (7000?) really made me look for the Toshiba model.
The Samsung Blu-Ray player over is about £1000, my TV cost £2000 so i'm not going to spend that amount.
Don't really want a PS3, but if it is a cheaper option, my hand might be forced.

I have the Sky+HD. Very nice. The 2 movie channels are pretty good and I really like sky one HD. Las Vegas looks really good while Lost looks amazing! I'm really looking forword to the new year with 24 and Battlestar.

A few questions. I've never imported a disc from the UK or anyplace else. Are there any differences between UK and US discs in terms of playback, etc? How much do they cost in US dollars?

I only have one import (Finding Neverland) and there's no difference in terms of playback. The menu is very "DVD-like" and all in Japanese.

Not sure if it's enabled for Region A players. It certainly works fine on my Samsung (I'll have to try it on my Panny, now that you mention it). You might not be able to play our discs on Region B players though.
