HD-DVD sampler disc for $6.95?

I saw this linked to amazon from DVDtalk.com

http://www.amazon.com/Hdscape-Sample...154685-3530234

Do you think it's worth a $6.95? If it's one of those cheap 5 minute promos, I'll skip it. But if it actually gives us a demo longer than 15 minutes, hey maybe it's worth a try.

Yeah, seems to be the same one. Looks like we should be getting it around Dec. 5, I guess.

Yes it is. You can go to www.hdscape.com and order it for free. I believe you just have to pay for shipping. I would assume it's coming soon since they just released the aquarium HD DVD on their website.

FWIW, I got the shipping notice for the HDscape sampler disc on 4/18; it is free with a shipping cost of $3.95. I placed the order back in September so I don't know why it took them so long to put it out. I guess I'll find out if it is worth the $3.95.

I gather that the Digital Video Essentials [HD DVD] has also been released, after repeated delays. I have that one on order from Buy.com + Google.

I should have them in my hands in a week and a half or so. I'll post reviews as soon as I can.

Mine came in yesterday (cardboard sleeve).

I guess the cost of the case is factored in the new $6.95 price.

It's looks great if you want to demo your HD equipment with some brief Hawaiian or fireplace scenery (The Outer Space Pics were kind of boring).

...but then I think you'll have educate your audience on the difference between Video-on-HD and Film-on-HD.

The Disc has a basic 8-9 chapter setup with samples from the other HD Scape Discs (including DVE).

For $6, you can add another disc to collection and record it on your DVDProfiler

I got mine today (at the original free+3.95 shipping price). No, I personally wouldn't recommend it. A few of the segments are decent as quickie demo material but some of them are pretty boring or pointless. The DVE advertisement is terrible -- I don't know what they were thinking with that, but it is a pretty awful ad for the disc.

Anyway, for $4 total, it was worth the gamble. But this won't spend much time spinning around in my player.

I just posted a review of the sampler, for anyone who's bored, although bboisvert's post says the same thing a lot quicker.

Antartica Dreaming gets two thumbs up from me, but the National Geographic: Relentless Enemies disc is the king so far of these types of discs IMO.

I don't have my copy yet Bus. I ordered from WB store the same time as many of our members. They didn't send me a backorder email or shipping notice so I have no idea when I'll get it.

I never ordered through WB. I figure I'll get it quicker waiting for the DDD 20% off sale.

Your probably right. I'd bet that the WB store usually does very little business and they were caught off guard with the demand for this title. I'm personally shocked at how well it was selling on Amazon as well.
