$70 In Blu-ray Rebates for PS3 Buyers

I apologize if this is in another thread (I did a search for "rebate" and couldn't find it), but PS3 buyers are getting a pretty good incentive for buying Blu-ray movies...there's a coupon book in each PS3 that offers $10 off studio titles from each of the Blu-ray studios. The only caveat is that you only have one of three titles to pick from each studio, but assuming you haven't bought any Blu-ray movies yet (purchase has to be made AFTER 11/17/06), most viewers will probably want at least one of the three titles offered by each studio.

Too bad HD-DVD isn't offering a similar incentive...yet.

Are they not offering like 2-3 FREE HD DVDs for purchasing a player?

Yeah, I forgot about the current promotion, being one of those who got the HD-DVD player early (with no free movies).

They will be adding more titles to choose from throughout the year.

Unfortunately it's only $10 per studio, which sucks if you have a fairly genre-specific collection...

Hello All,

Question on this, I've been a few rounds with various customer service and can't figure it out.

New PS3's don't have the booklet in it. But the website is pretty specific about being valid through June. So... How to take advantage of this on a recent PS3 purchase???

I just got a PS3 shipped last week from J&R and it had no such coupon booklet.

I think I have two or three unused coupons left.

To receive the Rebate, the purchaser must submit an original rebate form along with the original receipt(s) reflecting the required Blu-ray movie purchase (except for RI residents who may submit a copy of his/her receipt(s)) of the qualifying product(s) and the original UPC from the product packaging, via mail to Blu-ray Movie Rebate, P.O. Box 8143, St. Cloud, MN 56398-8143 received no later than July 31, 2007. On the Rebate form, you will be required to submit all information requested, including your full name, mailing address (no PO boxes, please) and your telephone number (including area code).

This from the website http://www.blu-raymovierebate.com/ps_terms.html

I have already received two or three of these rebates so far. It seems to me that if you have spent the money to get the Playstation 3 (and well worth it, IMHO), you should be entitled to this rebate program.

Yeah, I've sent in some of the rebates and received them back quite quickly (less than three week turnaround). I just wish they would update the list of movies valid for the rebates like they said they would.
