video game stands

does anyone else that owns multiple consoles find that the jumble of cables gets unruly/ugly?

I'm considering building my own videogame stand that would hold my 360,PS2 (and build it to accomodate a ps3, should I get one), my Wii, DVD Player and possibly the cable box. Ideally, this would be able to be enclosed to hide anything I didn't want seen.

I'm thinking that i could create a hidden back compartment that would house all the wires and power cords, and via a powerstrip and AV selector, would only have one or two sets of cables coming out of the back of it and into the TV.

has anyone built anything like this previously, or know of a similar product on the market that might do something of this sort?

Also, does anyone know of a way to get PC case fans to run that does not require an actual pc? like a power converter for them?

I ask because I'm worried about air circulation particularly in the case of the 360, and i'm thinking that some nice quiet pc case fans might be the ay to go.

just looking for suggestions on this. if people are interested, I might post diagrams of my plan and/or pictures when I'm done.

then again, I tend to get these big ideas some times and never follow through, so who knows.

I built a series of shelves to hold my consoles that I could easily add to to add cords, power strips, etc. I will try and take some pictures soon and post.
