$4.99 DVDs AR, Free batteries at FYE B&M

I was at FYE today looking for Season 2 of lost for $20 that's posted here... they didn't have it on sale, but i did see the following:

$4.99 DVDs (from what i remember)
Super Troopers
American Beauty
8 Mile
Die Hard
There were a ton of other titles, nothing else that really caught my eye though

They also had batteries, AAA & AA (10-20 packs) for $9.99 free after Rebate

And CD Racks (which was probably posted sometime in the past), the same ones were still there $19.99 with $20 rebates or $9.99 with $10 rebates

they've gotten better recently... back when i bought chappelle's show, i got screwed over on the rebates and had to make 5 calls to get them....

but, i recently purchased (about 2 months ago) 2 of the CD storage units, sent the rebates to different addresses, and got both in a few weeks time...

also, reports from others make it seem like there rebates have improved... though i do agree, that they are bastards with that... or at least used to be...

But maybe they know I'm an ace reporter for DVDTalk

I'll agree with most people here that FYE rebates are a little more "challenging" than others. I've only done about 11 rebates this year from FYE, and about half required some sort of phone call or fax resubmission to correct. Luckily, I keep copies of everything and detailed logs on the submission process. If it weren't for the great deals on these after rebate promotions coupled with my 10% backstage pass savings, I would have probably given up on shopping at FYE.

To their credit though, my last two rebate submission went through without a hitch and in record time. One rebate was for the FAR DVD rack and the other was for (3) DVDs from OP's $4.99 promotion. I mailed both rebates out on 11/8/06 and was received/validated by them on 11/16/06. I was shocked considering my previous two submission both mailed out on the same day was received almost two months apart!

FYI, the three DVDs that I purchases were The Mummy - Collector's Edition, The Bourne Identity - Explosive Extended Edition, and The Italian Job - Special Collector's Edition for $9.99/each with $5 rebate. Rebate information listed below:

Promotion #: 06-57187
Rebate amount: $5
Purchase date: 11/02/06 to 11/29/06
Postmark date: 12/29/06
UPC requirements: Original UPC bar code symbol from the package.
Rebate status: www.fyerebates.com or (800-779-6219)

Mail to:

ive keep copies of everything for rebates, like most you. for the die hard ultimate box not too long ago, i called transworld (or whatever it is) twice and spoke to two different cs reps. i even faxed my submission, assured by the cs that it would go through.

long story short, never again fye

Did anyone try for the Seinfeld Season 7 rebate that was offered back in November? I've usually had good luck with their rebates, and I've never had one ignored, but this one never showed up on their rebatetrack web site for me. Just wondering if this one might be delayed for everybody for some reason or if I've got a problem. I just e-mailed them about it...
