Anyone know when online stores (Amazon?) send out their launch consoles?

Have had my wii pre-ordered for 2 months, and am leaving Monday afternoon for thanksgiving with the family. Just want to decide where i should have the console shipped. Little wary about having UPS decide to drop it off outside my apartment instead of in the leasing office and me not being here.

Amazon has said repeatedly that it will not ship before the 19th. So expect a Monday shipment + however many days shipping you have.

Why not just go buy one on Sunday afternoon or Monday morning? They should be very easy to find.

I ordered from Amazon because I do not need it on launch day, as I am leaving town. I also enjoy not having to pay 8% sales tax.

System = $249.99

Best price around. No one is holding any of my money.

I just checked and my Wii is 'shipping soon' also! After A9 discount, it cost me $246 delivered with 2 day shipping!

When did you all order? I ordered on September 15th around 11am, and mine still says "not yet shipped."

Mine is 'shipping soon'. I placed it in my basket on 9/15 but forgot about it. On 10/15 I was shopping for something else and noticed the Wii was still in my basket. I ordered at that time.

Mine was shipped out today with scheduled delivery on Monday. I'm still hoping to pick one up tomorrow night since I was not blessed with patience. I will see if anyone on these boards has trouble finding one over the weekend. If so, I'll offer it to them at cost. Otherwise I'll just return it to Amazon.

Amazon: "Shipped via UPS (estimated arrival date: 21-November-2006)."

I can't wait that long...

I called DHL and they confirmed that a signature *is* required. I won't be at home on Monday (I gotta start having stuff sent to the office). I was told that if you leave a note referencing the tracking number and request that the package be left, the DHL delivery person will leave it.

I hate expecting something to be delivered only to find one of those damned "we mised you!" notes on the front door.

Mine and an extra wiimote are showing up at my apt today. i'm gone for the week, but whatever. Total headache for me = 0. No tax. And with some promotional certs I got for a 2min e-mail about them processing later orders earlier, total cost to me = $280.

Locked up soundly in the leasing office's mailroom. Nice try.

Congrats. It's alway nice when the leasing office or a neighbor can take care of packages while on vacation. I had a camcorder coming from Amazon one time that was supposed to be overnighted to me. They didn't ship it in time, so I had to have a neighbor look out for it since I would be gone for 3 weeks.
