"OOP" Blues Brothers CE DVD $9.96 @ Wal-Mart (YMMV)

I was surprised when I went to Sam's today and seen "OOP" Blues Brothers CE + Animal House (new one) together in a 2 pack for $8.44. They had others but I can't remember them.

If I run across one of these I'll probably pick it up "just because", but I'm happy with my 25th Anniversary Edition.

Yeah, the newer edition completely supercedes the older version. It's not desirable for DVD content (the new one has everything on it and more) and there are too many available for it to be a collectible.
For $5 more you can get some new extras and the vasty superior theatrical cut in addition to the bloated extended edition that you're stuck with on the previous disc.

I've been seeing these all over the place lately. Walmart and Fry's (in IL) both had them in the past couple weeks for around 10 bucks. I still havent' gotten around to picking up the newer anniversary edition yet.

Looks like it's available at Deep Discount DVD too. Only checked because I just tried to watch the extended version on the Anniversary Edition and the damn thing's defective. I watched the regular version and all the extras a couple months ago and those were fine, figures the defect would be in the last part I watch.
DVD-18s are cool when they work, but they need to be made at the more reliable manufacturers, not this place in Mexico they've been using (obviously for the cheap labor.) This is the 3rd time I've had a problem with a Universal disc; I went through THREE copies of Casino before I got one that played flawlessly (had to send it back to the company) and I got a defective copy of Emperor's Club that I had to exchange- that ruined the movie since I hadn't seen it before and it froze up at a critical point.
