Games like Raiden?

I love the old school side scroller like Raiden,Ikaruga,Gradius and Metal Slug and was wondering is there any collection of such games in the market today?

I imported a copy of Raiden 3 for the PC. Cost me a bomb but so worth it. >

I think there is a complete Metal Slug compilation coming out for PS2...soon. You might want to check out the Capcom 1 & 2 collection and the upcoming Sega Genesis collection. Again for the PS2 and maybe other systems. You didn't mention which systems you are looking for.

PS2 or PC platform is my preferred platform. I am mostly interested in shooters like Raiden. You know they type where you control a plane/fighter and accumulate pow-ups and fight big bosses.

Actually, I've never even heard of Raiden. Is it like R-Type?

If you've never played Viper 1, vhgong, I would suggest looking for it. Best top-down scrolling shooter I ever played.

Truxton kicked ass, too. Also loved Raiden Triad.
