The titles are limited, but each column has some good choices.

I'm a GENIUS!!! For waiting for a deal like this.

I'm in for Apollo 13, Casablanca, and Lara Croft. Much better than the free DVDs offer from 7 years ago.

Before the BR fans go 'See! They have to do this to stay alive!', remember, DVD did this as well with those wonderful titles most people can't give away now.

Why, would Blu-ray fans say that? Their format is giving away movies as well. Even when the Toshiba's first launched they were giving away $25 in movie cash for any HD DVD or DVD you wanted.

Robert on AVS just said he is offering this offer plus an additional 2 movies.

My two free movies plus Toshiba's three free movies, both offers, a tolal of five free HD DVDs for the purchase of a stand alone (sub $500) G2 HD DVD player.

Hot Hot Hot.

Robert (value electronics) has no affiliation with this deal so they'd, of course, be separate.

I guess I will be getting 3 movies off that list that I do not currently own. Once I receive those three I will have every movie on the list.

Too bad they're not giving away Six Days, Seven Nights, Lost in Space, and Lethal Weapon 4 like they did when I got my first DVD player in '98. I would be all over HD DVD like flies on stink.

Yeah, or Stepmom. I can't even remember the fifth title as it was five freebies back then, all I remember is they pretty much sucked. I remember think, at least I get Leathal Weapon 4 for free.

Toshiba is getting nice support from the big three still which is good to hear for HD-DVD fans. I just noticed that you get one title each from Paramount, Warner Brothers and Universal.

Other ones I can remember getting from the Toshiba promos are Stargate (flipper), Analyze This, The Jackal, and The Mask.

Great news! I have pre-ordered the HD A2, so hopefully the receipt has at least 11/1/06 as the date .

Note this is not specific to the G2 players. Buy any of their models and get this.

So, for those wanting the HD-A1, the player is $400 at Amazon, plus you get ~$60 in free movies.

Flamebaiting and off-topic posts removed.

HD DVD vs. Blu-ray posts belong in the HD DVD vs. Blu-ray thread.

Wow, that's a really good deal. If the HD-A2 had the analog outs, I'd be all over this.

Of course they put this offer out less than a week after I buy my player.

They should give that offer to ALL of us who supported them (when they were still sucking on the teets of HD) with their new endeavor and bought their players.

Faster load times, slimmer design, and I think the remote is backlit. It does lose the analogs, so unless you have a HDMI receiver, that's the only way to decode the advanced audio codecs (DD+, TrueHD)
